But I belong to the faction that spend the extra cost of such protection filter and the following reason:
- In dusty conditions or near waterfalls, reaches every now and then something on the lens, this affects first is not necessarily the quality of the recording, but you have the dirt so anyway remove.
This dirt (possibly with little moisture Korundkörnchen) I would rather be removed carefully from a filter glass (which is also still plan) as the front lens of my dear objective ?!
Dia the front lenses of the lenses are specially hardened and (usually) happen because nothing in it, but if they do, I would be extremely annoyed.
However, one must say that you use high-quality lenses to make high-quality recordings and this risk through a possibly advantage of filters ?! No, that nobody wants. But here I can give the all clear: The B & W Neutral Clear Protection Filter (77mm MRC Nano XS-Pro Digital) has no discernible changes in the Aufnahmequaliät me on.
Got my DSLR aimed at my tripod and the immovable properties also changed repeatedly. Then several shots (of course with remote release) in the interior, with unchanged conditions, made between and of course, always in exchange with and without filters.
The result after the PC did not show any visible changes. Clear some shots were slightly worse / better than others, but that was the exception and was not out back to a particular type of objects or with / without filter. I assume that the slightly fluctuating quality is thus attributed to me. ;-)
However, I could live with it if the image quality would vary minimally, because that I have finally the protection of my lens (some L lenses are in fact only completely splashproof when mounting a filter !! as the 16-35mm L Lens !) and I can better and easier cleaning.
Positives:
+ Super processing
+ Very thin (no vignetting)
+ Perfect thread
+ Scratch-free glass
+ Easy to clean
+ Does not affect the image quality
+ You can further filter screws on the filter
+ Price / performance
Negatives:
- Price (though I think justified him, he is still first steep)
Conclusion:
Given the fact that the image quality is not affected, you can better clean the lens, a Beschädugung the front lens 100% goes out of the way and different lenses without filters are not 100% splash-proof, I can only recommend this filter!
Incidentally, I only use filters of B + W in MRC Nano XS-Pro Digital. All of these filters are of the same, high quality.
