Packing
The receiver is protected in the cardboard box with styrofoam well against external influences. The setup microphone, the remote control and the documents should also not be placed freely. that's the way it has to be.
Look and feel
The AV receiver makes a visually siginificant. He relies on optical restraint and puts more emphasis on functionality. The mounted on the front panel buttons do not wobble and have a pleasant pressure point. The font on the keys could be somewhat larger. The large volume control looks wertig from acts upon actuation but something smooth and is made of relatively thin plastics. Often I did not use these, however, so this point does not fall so significant.
The connections are all processed with value and ensure a secure fit of the cable. It wobbles nothing. Praiseworthy
Commissioning
When connecting the speaker cable lot is demanded of patience. Since the connections are very close together, it is with big hands quite friemelig. However, the connection of the other cables designed easily.
For the first time you will be well guided by the clear, displayed on the TV menu. The steps required for automatic calibration are described understandable. The calibration works pretty neat. In the settings but it could later be adjusted manually. After the calibration can be checked even with the help of an assistant the correct connection of the cables. Sound
The AV receiver is excellent for its price range spatial sound again. Treble, mid and lows are clearly differentiated and convey a balanced listening experience.
As a test movie, I used Pacific Rim, which includes a 7.1 TrueHD soundtrack. It produced a very good space. Whether helicopter, cartridges or Soundtrack everything is perceived separately and not blurred to a mushy.
The music playback convinced me also. Whether classical music, rock, metal or electro. There are details audible that I previously could not perceive.
Of course, countless adjustments can be made on sound. With a little patience and just about any user should get an enjoyable sound experience. For this, I recommend to download the full user guide, in which all functions are described quite well and understood. The instructions are also included on a disc.
Image
The receiver expects low resolution highly reliable and visually appealing. However, the image signal can be looped through. It can be made to the picture, the usual settings. By 4K capability, the receiver is equipped properly for the future.
Remote
The remote control seems a bit confusing. The keys are rather small. If you get used to the operation all goes slightly out of hand. At the present time, however, a little more innovative operating concept can be expected.
Additional Features
The Bluetooth pairing works perfectly. Streaming via Spotify and TuneIn also, the interface looks a bit confusing. Here I see a need for improvement.
The Remote app is a good complement, but not replace the remote control. But it is very useful to control the music from a distance from. I would imagine that app is really useful if you operate a second zone in another room.

The Onkyo TX-nr 626 is the perfect receiver for my average claims. It convinces with its functionality and future-proof features. The output sound and the picture can be hear or see very well. A small downer is the uninspired remote control, where they served their purpose. All in all I am very satisfied with the receiver and hope to have a long-term cooperation ". 5 stars

The receiver is still working as reliable as on the first day. Meanwhile Mohr SL 15 and Heco Music Style 200 connected speakers. The center remained the same. The JBL Control One now serve as a front high speakers. The front high effect brings the receiver across well. Rain falls for example now actually from above.
The streaming services I use currently via Wi-Fi. In the W-LAN connection with my Fritz box there were no problems.
The Xbox One and the Onkyo TX-nr 626 also harmonize well with each other.
After three months of intensive use, I'm still totally satisfied with the device. At the confusing remote I got used to now. To date, two system updates were uploaded. This changed at the somewhat spartan user interface but nothing.

I exchanged recently my motley speaker system against the GLE series of Canton. At Onkyo TX # 626 are from me now the Canton GLE 490.2, the GLE 455.2 Center, the GLE 420.2 operated as Rears and the JBL ES 250 PW subwoofer. The Control One further serve as a front high speakers.
The AV receiver comes with the speakers to grips. He can present his or her potential even better by the more coherent compilation of boxes. I am using the tx-nr 626 continues to be very satisfied. From wear so far there is no trace.

After the note in the comments, I would like to mention a problem, report that some users of the receiver. When streaming music is probably a break of about 7 seconds between each song. Normal would be 2-3 seconds. It struck me not to, because I hear streamed music only in passing. Here the problem is not disturbing. When I consciously hear music, I put on a record or a CD, where the 7-second problem does not occur naturally. When Bluetooth streaming, the long pauses also do not occur.
Do not disturb the issue based on my listening habits. Why I pull no star. Other users might the long pauses but quite perceive as extremely prejudicial, so I wanted to have but then mention it.
