Quite different is the Cruiser 2. After unpacking, I was once pleasantly surprised by the excellent workmanship and high quality material appearance. The charging to full capacity took about an hour. There is a micro-USB connector, which makes the device compatible with modern plugs chargers. I have it charged to the socket with the charger of the Galaxy S2. So it is not a shortcoming that the device came with "only" a car charger. This, incidentally, has a very long, straight cable. It should be long enough even with sun visor mounting, to go to the cigarette lighter (a dangling around but then in my face :-)
Pairing with the Samsung Galaxy S2 was smooth and very quick. The voice quality in handsfree mode is excellent, crisp and clear and not distorted especially at higher volumes. I even had to take back the preset volume. So there are sufficient reserves available. The other side can understand clearly and distinctly; no echoes, no dropouts.
The highlight is the FM transmission. With the Galaxy S2 (a 10 year old Blaupunkt Dresden MP34 with me) come calls through your car stereo over very well. The frequency search I had to start a few times because the preset (88.1) was too close to a transmitter tuned. I have now run it at 107.7.
The function voice commands also work easily with the Galaxy. The announcements of the phone are reproduced through the car speakers.
Music from the Galaxy S2 is very well transferred. What is striking, however, is an increased noise of low level, I do not have with earphones operation of the Galaxy. Perhaps this is due to the "double air transmission" via Bluetooth and then FM. As sure something will be the loser. Sonically it is certainly in order.
For all those who complain that the music is not to regulate the volume on the way to radio at the Cruiser 2 is recommended to seek the volume control of the car radio. This is done but also listening to the radio, right? Furthermore, the volume control on the phone and also the equalizer settings of the mobile phone is transmitted via Bluetooth. So I do not see it as a shortcoming that the volume buttons on the Cruiser in FM mode not regulate the volume, but fine-tune the transmission frequency. On the contrary, I think that even more appropriate. If additional keys were again required on the device.
The device can be easily attach to the sun visor in the car, in spite of relatively thick sun visor with illuminated mirror it takes no more fumbling. The clip, which doubles as an FM antenna by the way, is of sufficient size (Car: Citroen C5).
Does not like so much, but no reason for the devaluation is:
- The two buttons on the outside of the side power-on (slide switch) and activate the FM broadcast (push button) are very small and fiddly and not incorporated precise fit. Even after some prolonged exercise they are with one hand hard to use. So you should think about before departure, what you want. Otherwise you have to hold the device with one hand and press the other button, otherwise the device from slipping on the sun visor back and forth. They protrude hardly out of the device, so you must first feel for where they are located.
- The indicator lights are hard to detect in daylight with a view, as they are bent when mounted on the sun visor in direction of travel and you have to take your head forward to see from below the state. A shift of lights toward the housing edge could be better.
- The female computer voice giving her statement in part by using truncated words. A look at the line on the Jabraseite to be downloaded PDF - guide will help here.
- The included Quick Start Guide is a joke. As big as a tablecloth and a tiny Fitzel printed them in German and so small that you need a magnifying glass. So rather download it right on the Jabra page and PDF document.
- Increased noise during FM transmission.
Overall this is the best hands-free, which I had previously. She does what she is in high quality, looks nice and has a very good price-performance ratio.
One complaint I have for shipping:
Contrary to the other exercise the unit was not sent by DHL but with Hermes. As Premium Shipping payers me the following day was announced and also announced in the Tracking of Hermes so. Apparently the driver but not feel like a day of inviting into his vehicle had to drive my apartment in Bonn and came only two days later. The service hotline at Hermes is an impertinence (60 ct / min and no plan. What has been said there was only the oral reproduction of the online tracking). Only one phone call to Amazon revealed some enlightenment. Luckily it rang during this call at the door and the Hermes-driver took the package.
Hermes = thumbs down ...
