Display
-------
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S exceeds the Tab 3 in every respect. Starting with the absolutely strong and very sharp Super AMOLED display, which can literally look quite pale, the TFT display of Table 3. The resolution has increased considerably. Could the display of the Table 3 with only 1,280 x 800 Attending, Samsung's Super AMOLED display offers the Tab S at a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 (WQXGA). If you look at corresponding high-resolution images on the display comes to their best advantage. Even more so with videos. Factory a sample video on the Tab S is available, which is simply gigantic sharpness and color brilliance. Even self-recorded Full HD videos (is possible also with the rear 8 MP camera), seen on the Tab S of absolute good. Compared to Table 3 with TFT display immediately falls on the excellent black level of the S Tab. In the TFT technology black faces light up because of Hintrergrundbeleuchtung yet a little, so you do not have perfect black. When the corresponding pixel AMOLED are simply turned off so "real" is achieved black.
---------
Processor
---------
The processor also has 3 superior to the Tab far. In Tab S a real Octa-core, so an eight-core processor in the case of 4 x 4 x 1.9 GHz and 1.3 GHz works composed. The 1.3GHz version is intended for more simple applications where not much computing power is needed. Do I need a bit more power, the 1.9 GHz quad-core active and goes there once really round, all cores simultaneously make to work. The Octa-Core gives the Tab S a peak performance. Everything runs very smoothly and it is difficult to bucking the device once a small move (happened with me so far only once when I in the browser a comprehensive news website called).
------
Design
------
The design of the S Tab I find absolutely succeeded. I ordered the variant "Titanium / Bronze" with the brown back. This acts as I find very noble, especially the bronze frame. A nice detail is the rim of the rear camera and LED. Both are housed in a glossy also bronze frame. Despite the nice disign, which was übenommen the Galaxy S5 ("Golfballopitk" on the back), the back feels not quite as wertig how the S5.
---------
Software
---------
As a software factory Android 4.4.2 is available and who has worked with Android, will find their way quickly. The menus and submenus are clearly structured and easy to find. Who still does not use Galaxy S5 has to get used to it, that the touch key is left is no longer occupied by the home button now with "options" but with "Current Applications". Pressing the touch key shows which apps are currently active in the background and you can quit at will to get back to release some more RAM. In this respect the Tab S is the way a good position. He is assisted by 3 GB of memory.

Accumulator
-----
The Tab S is loaded as usual via a Micro-USB connector, which is thankfully now moved from the bottom (Galaxy Tab 3 10.1) on the right side. Grade with a cover that encloses complete the tab, it can be extremely inconvenient if the micro-USB port is below. Then the cover can no longer be completely no longer close to or just namely while a cable is connected. This issue has no longer, because the Anschlus sitting in Tab S on the side and thus the cover during a cable ageschlossen, fully utilized and built up and closed.
The endurance of the batteries, and the full charging time I can not judge yet, but this will complement, when the tab was loaded several times and the battery has reached its final capacity. Currently, I can only say that the Tab S arrived partially charged and had a capacity of 55%. Before first use, it has been initially charged, which lasted about 3 hours (from 55% Restkaptzität). The battery life is my feeling until now pretty neat. Even after a few hours of Internet applications images / videos, etc. is the battery only at about 60%.
*** Update *** (29.12.2014)
Having the Tab S now being used for a while and recharging multiple times and I can say that the battery life according to my feeling is very good. For mixed use (Internet, images, videos, games occasionally) and all functions at shutdown are not needed depending on the application such as wireless Internet, the Tab S holds me by at least 6 hours, which in my opinion a good value.
Charging time varies, of course, depending on how much remaining capacity still exists. If the Tab nearly empty (<15%), must certainly be expected about 5 hours to charge.
-------
Camera
-------
The rear camera has a resolution of 8 MP and supplies in sufficient light pretty good pictures. With the camera Full HD videos can be recorded, which are pretty neat too with enough light.
New compared to the older tablets is the small LED on the back of the camera. It serves as a flash or video light. With an appropriate app they can also be used as a flashlight.
--------------------
Memory expansion
--------------------
The Tab S has a microSD slot, so that the internal memory can be expanded. I take this opportunity and my micro SD card is instantly recognized without problems and all the data stored on it, such as images or videos are displayed as usual in the gallery and also play without a problem.
-------------
Delivery
-------------
The tablet will be a Quick Start Guide, warranty information, and power cord and USB cable. In particular, the cable I was pleasantly surprised. Was this the Tab 3 quite short (as long as the cables provided with the smartphones, so nearly 1 meter), then the Tab S was a significantly longer cable at (1.5 meters), which one then in use while invites simply is a little more flexible. Nice that Samsung here now donated a longer cable.
Like the Galaxy S5 has the Tab S in the home button on a fingerprint scanner, with which the tablet can unlock, but it can also fingertip payments are authorized.
On the back can be found at the bottom of two small "buttons", which serve the Tab S in an original Samsung "Book Cover" lock it.
--------
Accessories
--------
As an accessory there is a Samsung "Book Cover" (also available here on Amazon), in which the Tab S is "clicked" via push button technology. In my opinion, the tablet is very well protected and it is in any case a useful accessory.

Conclusion
-----
Overall I am very satisfied so far with the Galaxy Tab S and it met my expectations. In terms of the Super AMOLED display my expectations are exceeded. Although I am already used to this display technology from my S5, the display of Tab S but has such a sharpness and color brilliance that I think it's a little better than the S5 and of course - as a tab - simply larger and thus more impressive ,
Who is looking for a powerful tablet with a superb display, which I can the Samsung Galaxy Tab S absolutely recommend.
Thus, give a strong buy recommendation for the Galaxy Tab S.
