One thing first: I count myself among the normal amateur photographers, which are indeed ambitious, to take good pictures as possible, but do not want the same to establish a professional equipment or can. I am not one of the professional-amateurs, which the equipment is more important than taking pictures. What use is a the most expensive equipment, if they are used only very rarely, except maybe to specify or for self-expression. I photograph are more than three decades, yet preferably with analog SLR cameras with and without autofocus and added'm a fan of the brand Canon. (I also cameras from other manufacturers) the digital domain, I discovered in recent years from having compact and bridge cameras. But in the end I could not resist, zuzulegen a modern DSL camera after all. As a Canon fan I opted for a Canon EOS 600D, although the cameras of the competition quite certainly are not worse. Before buying I wondered course, with what lenses should I buy the camera. Only the housing with lens EF-S 18-55mm IS Kit with EF-S 18-135mm 1:. 3.5-5.6 IS kit or Double Zoom Kit includes the EF-S 18-55 IS II EF + -S 55-250 IS ??? Since the kit lenses are neither qualitative nor the performance exactly brilliant and my desired focal length range with the Double Zoom Kit could cover, I decided once to buy just the enclosure and for now my existing lenses from the use analog Canon EOS cameras. Even if they are not optimized for digital cameras DSL, to great photos can do with it. The problem, however, is the same as with the high-quality lenses that are specifically available for the digital DSL cameras: Man must go out always fully loaded in order to have the desired focal length range while. What do you do: You pull rather then times with the compact camera or bridge camera going, which covers the desired zoom range. The DSL-camera is then used only for special photos. That was me but too little. So I looked around for an ever-top lens. The candidate lenses from Canon were too expensive for me for this, with Sigma lenses I've not had the best experiences of my analogue SLR cameras and Tamron 18-270mm F / 3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Lens seemed perfect for my needs. So I bought it and after much deliberation and reading various comparison and reviews. And I must say it has not only met but even exceeded my expectations. That what was on offer for the price of quality and performance, you will not find so fast in comparable other lenses. An Ideal Always-top lens, which is perfectly adequate for everyday use, and my claims for me and enables the crucial me my DSL camera without heavy lens collection often just check out to take walks or other occasions.
Surely you can not compare this lens with expensive special zoom lenses or even with fixed focal lengths. As an alternative to Double Zoom Kit incl. EF-S 18-55 IS II + EF-S 55-250 IS what then but already have two lenses, it is both qualitatively and by the performance not worse, quite the contrary. The low price premium that you have to take this kit in buying is always worth, in my view - and it has only one lens. And compared to other zoom lenses with this focal length coverage unrivaled favorable. Add to this 5 year warranty which is not too bad and for the competition is not even a matter of course.
I would in any case buy it at any time again and recommend if someone is looking for a lens for the same application range as I put him there only. For pixel counter or professionals but there are certainly better lenses, which then also cost the same and weigh more. For a normal amateur photographers, to whom I count myself, the performance offered for this price and the necessary focal length is impressive.
