Very nice piece!

Quality book, perfect prints, paper thick enough not to see through the pages. The photo on the front cover is just beautiful and very much reflects the atmosphere of the room. A beautiful edition as always with Penguin. Inside we find an introduction by Robert Bray of 7 pages and personal notes by Tennessee Williams that extend over 6 pages.

Regarding the story:

Surely one of the most beautiful pieces of Tennessee Williams. English is really not very complicated to understand. History is a analepsis and tells the daily life of Tom Wingfield (character but also the narrator of the piece), his sister and his mother. The story takes place exclusively in Wingflied. Abandonment, memory, leak, and illusion are the major themes of this masterpiece that I let you discover.

If the book really liked you (or you do not have really), I advise you to see the film adaptation of Paul Newman (1987) with John Malkovich in the role of Tom, very faithful to the book ( almost line by line) and is gorgeous.
