Positives:
- Very nice, high-quality design. The TV works through the very narrow context Despite its size, not too powerful.
- The image quality (probably the most important thing on a TV) is - taken as a whole - after a few settings for my taste very good. The picture is very sharp, de colors are beautiful and of course, the black level is good for an LCD TV. A good starting point for customization are the defaults Expert1 and Expert2 and cinema. I recommend just about any image enhancer options initially off (which is almost all TVs so). The image is thanks to IPS panel from all directions equally well to look at and not falsified the colors. I would say that I probably somewhat fussy than the average bin (point principle projectors and TVs with test images of Burosch a) in image quality. No Clouding but good, evenly illuminated image (For this you should always switch off but the LED local dimming option). Banding occurs (as with most TVs) in test patterns though, but I do at a "real" use have not noticed - even in games where there are many gradients.
- The operating system webOS makes quite fun and is supplied with the Magic Remote relatively intuitive (like Wii or mouse / laser pointer). Widespread apps like Amazon Instant Video or Netflix pre-installed, while others can be (usually for free) just from the LG Store download directly on your TV.
- With 3 HDMI, 3 USB, Ethernet and optical S / PDIF are available for my needs enough connections to the unit. Wi-Fi is also included. Analog inputs has the unit also.
- There is a game mode important for console gamers. The video output is then very quick. A slight input lag, I can still feel, but for me it is so reasonable and playable, even with games that require a fast reaction (eg. Car racing games). Attention, UPDATE below (accurate input lag)
- The passive 3D mode allows for appropriate high-resolution input material a great 3D image that can be looked to with any cheap 3D glasses from the cinema. The glasses are lightweight and inexpensive. 2 3D glasses are included.
- The built-in media player plays pretty much from any format.
Negatives:
- The television reflects strong. In daylight you can get a reasonably useful picture because only by newcomers curtains and fully turned backlight. Seems to be a widespread problem, according to other reviews nowadays.
- A negative point in image quality, a realization struck me: the "Dirty Screen Effect". I notice when playing on the Xbox with fast pans in a bright sky ever. I can live with it, but who is it sensitive to it will probably interfere. For movies it's me not noticed, but since you have not so often swing against a bright background. A topic that is probably especially for folks watching football, but for that I do not belong ;-)
- The built-in operating system responds slowly sometimes. There is probably no loud announcement Update give to the new webOS 2.0 by LG.
- According to the manual, the device has integrated Bluetooth. However, it is not possible (confirmed by LG Support via email) to connect a Bluetooth keyboard or a Bluetooth headset. Why here the potential of Smart TV is not used with an integrated Bluetooth module?
- It is not possible to access a connected to the TV USB HDD over the network. Too bad, so I need still my old Media Player if I do not constantly turns on the hard drive and want to unplug.
- The included manual is a joke and stored on the TV Guide also leaves more questions than it answered.
- At the most annoying, I find that the connection to smartphones / tablets on appropriate webOS apps for iOS and Android is supported, this app but unfortunately the most meaningful of all functions lacks: Entering texts on the Smartphone or Tablet Keyboard. Instead, you can do with the app just what you can already do well with at least one of the 2 supplied remote controls. In the app for the old LG TV a text entry is possible. Why regressed be made here?
One could also all be summarized as follows: The TV has a total great picture or display (apart from the mirrors and the light Dirty Screen Effect) and a software that makes fun with the Magic Remote, but also a little immature acts , Whether LG still nachbessert, written in the stars, especially since it will probably be no update to webOS 2. Too bad, you give away so a lot of potential of the TV. As I look at the hardware requirements, especially the image quality as the most important on such a device, but I can clear conscience at the current price at 800 euros a buy recommendation (the EIA is far too high). More than 4 stars would be justified only in my eyes, if should be rectified in the software (which I doubt).

Update 24.2.15
Since the issue is felt in the game mode though very fast, my colors in my Expert1 setting but dropped significantly better, I have taken the trouble to measure input lag even while the settings Expert1 (with all Bildverbesserern but especially TruMotion OFF) and GAME compare. Used measuring method: leave timer running on the screen and mirrors the screen with a known very quickly monitor, then take pictures (1 / 2000s) and compare numbers. For reference, here served the internal monitor of my MacBook Pro, which is very fast - verified I have by comparison to my older Panasonic plasma TV (these are among the fastest flat screens at all, and the internal MacBook Monitor is here even on average 16ms = 1 frame at 60fps faster). I made each 12 measurements.
Result: If all Bildverbesserer are made, there is no time difference between Expert1 and the game mode. The input lag was in each case 1-2 frames at 60fps (= Hz) (corresponding to 16-32 ms), which is for current LCD / LED TVs a very good value. It was striking to me that in spite of the very short shutter speed (1/2000) the game mode in the photos almost always lay two numerical values above the other. I guess LG in this mode switches off the interframe calculation. Even quicker but the image output will not according to my measurements.
On demand I give here also like my picture settings. However, these do not necessarily appeal to everyone, and there is always something on the passing device series dispersion there is possibly still. I initially used the internal PICTURE WIZARD III and then made a fine adjustment with Burosch test images. Setter with me: XBOX ONE, color space standard.
