The Seagate Momentus 5400.7 750GB is in continuous operation very, very quietly, access sounds still audible, but I do not feel as disturbing. Important, but often unnoticed, is also the energy consumption of this hard disk. That's according to a comparison of a specialist publisher really one of the lowest, and thus leads to a longer running time of netbooks or laptops and, through less heat generation, of course, they also contribute to reduce the fan tray.
Tip: The cover of the hard drive tends as with any hard drive in a slight resonance noise. If you can easily hang up a finger, the hard drive in practice becomes inaudible, apart from sneaking queries. I have a small piece of foam between HDD and netbook package lodged with me. But you have to make sure that the hard drive cage is not oppressive, but only the very low resonance noise disappears. As with any Tip: no guarantee :-)
The hard disk has me so excited that I even the Western Digital 500GB will replace in my notebook now. Since annoy me the "milled" sound and the access noise for a long time ...
If my vote and my tip could help, I am pleased with a positive rating. Then I know that it is worth the trouble :-)
