Purchasing decision:
I bought this phone primarily for the SL 400 to replace / supplement. Possession beyond even the SL78H, SL 68 ...
Interesting arguments were: Touchscreen, metal frame + piano finish, AB with more memory, entries with several numbers, synchronization, particularly with the Mac.
Base:
Looks like the previous models with two differences: there is a network port and an LED that glows blue when the base depends on the network via cable. This I have done 1x to update the firmware of the base (is triggered via the handset when the LAN cable is attached to the base), otherwise I am not sure what you can still use this port.
AB can not be used on the base.
Charger:
Schick, small but somehow still hard, you can stand anywhere, takes up little space, strange plug on the power cord (on side of the charger).
Handset:
A little hard which I think is due to the high quality finish but, good display with good resolution. There are three pages that can be reached with strokes, however, is the subject of mobile widgets as usual not configurable.
The navigation is slow and if you want a step back (ie upwards) very headstrong solved with an arrow at the top of the screen, somehow not really ergonomically. If you take the handset in your hand, the display is illuminated due to a built-in sensor and the phone is practically ready, this is for me but also a disadvantage in some ways, would have a key lock may deem appropriate. Software Update is currently only possible via PC Wondows, this was done because the first small problems reported by Siemens, but has brought not really much.
Voice quality is very good, acquit well. The phone book is good, entries with multiple numbers, little pictures, birthdays, etc.
Conclusion:
Have no regrets buying the phone, I can definitely recommend it. But you have to with the teething problems have patience to Siemens, this gets settled. I just hope that this is not such a long process as in SL78H.
Disadvantages:
- Display smeared as hell
- The unit is still slow with the latest firmware
- Synchronization with Mac does not, have already opened a case with Siemens, still waiting for the software in mid-October
- The device hangs 1x per week, then is "Line Busy" on the display and you can not be reached
-. Every few days appear regarding reminders for all contacts in the Address Book whose birthday although none has on the date of birth

UPDATE 25/10/2011
Respect. the disadvantages described above has done a little bit:
- There are now Quicksync for MAC and the software works, hence this problem has ever solved :-)
- After I turned off the handset, the base had set times briefly energized, disconnected the phone cord, then both cables off, turned on handset -> All good management is now no longer occurred.
- The memories appear now no longer randomly every few days, but I am not entirely clear why. Have only the first entry regarding. The reminder settings hanky and since then all is well :-)
. - But thus there is still a slight disadvantage regarding speed: the handset is a bit sluggish, let's hope that this will also still not resolved then there also 5 star :-)

UPDATE 22/12/2011
After the update in December for the handset I am very happy with the phone. The speed is normal.
What the sometimes very poor assessments of many buyers are me but very surprised that an expectation or draw comparisons dispense with any reality.
Compare this phone with smart phones like iPhone in terms of functionality, speed, etc. is completely the wrong approach.
From me there is hereby 5 star and a strong buy recommendation.
