I bought the floating backing for use on vacation. It works great and may be the GoPro even with mounted handle (self-built) still stay afloat.

I thought that was very convenient as I could yet take a camera with the beach. When I go into the water, I take the GoPro with you!

The adhesive is of "3M" and holds very firmly. I do not think that the pad will solve. Another practical feature is that a rear cover is included in delivery.
