MARKET OVERVIEW
The market is very confusing, in the simple features, the device is sold with 3 small and 3 larger size router, but there is also a professional edition with the 3 major mills (and coarser grain?), A ELLE edition, a gift version, etc ... They are no different in principle. Only by a different color or a pair of additional routers
Beurer sold the unit as MP 60 as well as the MP 61, it then has a LED light, the price is twice as high then, a provider requires even at an Internet auction house a thousand for this purpose!
One should be very careful as a consumer already, compare prices and read the offers exactly 30 Euros are saved quickly.
ALTERNATIVES
If you want to edit fingernails and corneal machine there are not too many alternatives:
- 220V Mini drills from Proxxon, Dremel, Master, etc. which provide 35-130 W. That's what I tried, but these are much too heavy (weighing approximately 0.5 Kg in hand) and much too bulky to hang on a very thick cables etc.
- Flexible shaft at a Dremel or 220V Proxxon mini machine. Since one has power in abundance and a huge selection of inexpensive abrasives. However, the machine has to be somehow suspended, which is no problem, and the range of the flexible shaft is quite limited. Dealing with it is due to the force (more than 100 W) and speeds (up to about 30,000 U / pm) dangerous. Finally, these devices are intended for the processing of wood, plastics and metals!
- 12V Micromot-50 machine and 220V / 12V transformer. This solution will cost RD. 45 euros, offers approx. 30W power, speeds up to 20,000 and the use of all commercially available abrasives. The grinder with a diameter of 35 mm and weighting 230 Gr. and is therefore very easy to handle. This solution is sold by various dealers with white or pink trim under different names with up to 300% surcharge as a professional pedicure equipment. I ordered my inexpensive and cheapest here on Amazon and will report when the opportunity about it, especially compared with the Sanitas SMA 50 and the Beurer MP61, I ordered in Austria because they rd there. Is 20-25% cheaper than in Germany.
ADVANTAGES OF SANITAS SMA 50 / BEURER MP 60
All this is nothing compared with the mobility and convenience of Sanitas / Beuerer. Because
- It weighs almost nothing,
- Is quiet,
- Going back and forth (do not Mini Drills)
- Is highly mobile with the thin, flexible cable,
- Is extremely secure (has approximately 10 times less power than a mini-grinder, 3 x turns around slowly..),
- Is robust (with occasional private use 10 years no problem, at least I have been long in use),
- The tool change comes quickly: Just tuck, done. No comparison with the collets of mini grinders.
In addition, the quality of the tools is excellent: I always use for years the same diamond cone. He must be freed to blockages with hot water and a brush from time, but he wears as the first day.
WEAKNESSES Sanitas SMA 50 / BEURER MP 60
Unfortunately, there are also disadvantages that you have to take in Purchase:
- The drive is extremely weak. The machine comes sometimes to stop, I often have the impression that I consider a battery-operated toy in hand,
- The speed is not constant, the device loses very fast speeds and at a working meeting on the cornea must often readjusted (increased).
Surely you have been thinking about the security and performance at Dinslage GmbH / Sanitas. Here a machine has been created that is sufficiently dimensioned in fingernails, but is actually often overwhelmed with cornea.
SERVICES
As I already indicated, the performance is sufficient for fingernails. The soft material and the small working area offer ideal conditions for the diamond-tipped tools and there is both a high efficiency and at the same time precise guidance.
If cornea (I am diabetic and have quickly a hard crust on the heels) is the performance weak. On the one hand the cone cutter has a very fine grain. This amount of material is very low. It consists of a very fine dust which is so fine that you can see how it slowly sinks to the bottom and long floats in the air. Here draft is undesirable! Add to that the weak engine performance. You have to go by feel and little pressure, otherwise the machine stops, which, although the risk of injury as well as exclude, but a rapid progress loaded or prevented.
The work corresponds to what can be reached within a broad, stocked with fine sandpaper file. So it's not a deal breaker.
So it's not surprising that the assessment in the previous reviews very differentiated 2-5 stars fails. This is not because the customer can not be objectively assessed or unreliable, but on the focus of the application of the Sanitas SMA 50th
CONCLUSION
It is therefore difficult to assess the 50 Sanitas SMA flat rate or undifferentiated. I would give it between 3 and 4.5 stars.
Speak for the machine handiness and reliability, however, the insufficient bandwidth of the drive power. With the speed you can live.
An electronic control of torque and a doubling of the capacity would be very beneficial.
As owner of a half a dozen mini-drills with many opportunities for comparison, I would say that the value for money given the current Amazon price is still OK, that is rather at the upper limit of what I would personally be willing to pay for such a small device. Essential main reason for this however is the very good quality of supplied diamond tools that are not susceptible to corrosion, a high level of stability and have lost no subjective loss of their material removal performance for years.
Again, I would wish cone cutter and flat cutter, the more powerful, speaks coarser grain, would.
By good quality accessories is the price, "reasonable" settled to the bottom line, in my estimation in the field.
A BUY recommendation I would say, depending on the potential buyer. This machine is certainly tailored more to female buyers.
