Connected at our house network (over three small home Cisco Switsche) 15 units with Gigabit LAN that receive their IP from the Fritz box. The Fritz box is connected to the Kablmodem and provides the Internet connection herund supplied additionally our DECT phones.
The Nighthawk has a fixed IP in the same IP segment as the Fritz box, but outside the DHCP range. The only access point to our WLANs is the Nighthawk, which provides (as already mentioned) a very strong and stable Wi-Fi.
in the 2.4 GHz network (Kanal6) we operate:
2 smartphones
3 Tablets
1 Notebook
2 TV
2 XBOX360
1 PS4
2 Network Printer
Depending on the visit also an active guest access
In 5GHz network (channel 36) there follows:
3 smartphones
1 Notebook
2 Tablets
1 XBOXOne
Natürlch all devices are not always active ,, but it shows that despite real work our home network at any time very well looked after wird.- PERFECT !!
The build quality is fine and the German web interface in the "simple" easy to operate adjustment by non-technicians.
In the "Advanced" view then finds the technically minded the many additional features that simply are at a> 150 router in it. VPN, streaming, Traffic Control, a "real" Quality of Service (QoS) which in our works great, etc etc. who want more settings than the Nighthawk offers must enter already in the professional league with "managed" router.
The device is barely warm to the touch and is very well ventilated with many slots, but also forced to clean :-(
For negatives:
- You can enter the connected devices no aliases, which makes the Fritz box very well. It's easy to benamen with so many devices of advantage its devices.
- Require even small unimportant changes to the settings too often a reboot -
the power supply is designed by a sadist ..... A huge misshapen severe Klotz -> I strongly recommend a Euro extension, something in this kind; qid = 1407481056 & sr = 8-2 & keywords = EUR + Verl% C3% A4ngerungskabel + 10m
-The Router is really huge, that one certainly fitted bekomtm also space-saving.
But these are all just details, who looks for a powerful wireless router with tons of extra features and no DECT needs should purchase the Nighthawk, a really great partner, at a time where wireless is ubiquitous!
