For the bedroom, a small second TV was sought, which must have a good price / performance ratio, above all. Another criterion was a DVB-C tuner and LED backlight, as the device to be small and discreet. For a long time I have various Samsung and other devices known manufacturer observed that were to have an average of 250-300 euros. For me it was not good reason why you have to pay at least as much for a 26 inch TV as a comparable or often better equipped 32 incher. By chance I discovered the Thomson 26HU5253 on amazon for 199 euros. The facilities leave them very well. Full HD was not a primary criterion in this case, since it makes little sense for a small TV in my opinion. Since I will connect any console or a Blu-Ray player, HD ready is enough in this case to me completely out, since ARD and ZDF HD for example, "only" Send in 720p. Without great to think I ordered the device and the next day came - kudos to Amazon. The instrument is set up quickly and makes a good impression optically initially - the TV is quite narrow, the margin in accent line optics. The remote control is also perfectly fine. Only a pity, I find that you can not switch the arrow keys, or can make up / down. The initial set-up runs smoothly, the channel scan is finished quickly. ARD HD will appear and the picture is convincing. The menu still some adjustments to images and sound can be adapted, the ECO mode automatically adjusts the image density when it sets - good. Another tip for tone: There are a number of defaults, by far the most satisfying sound we could achieve with the preset "Live" - both in music and TV broadcasts is the sound so perfectly fine for the small device. In the default setting the tone, however, is really poor.
The media player is a nice little bonus and USB images, music and videos are easily played. This feature but I will rarely use, so I'm going on an unspecified.
All in all it can be very zufrienden with this device - especially considering the very reasonable price.
The total fair idea of the device is only marred by the very critical poor contrast when viewed from the top of the image. From directly in front or from the side of the picture is good.
