Philips SHS8105A / 00 Android Sport in-ear headphones with hands-free function (1.2 m cable length) black (accessories)

Customer Review

After my old In-ear headphones have given up the ghost, I was in search of new "mini-plug" both on the go and for the sport. The selection is great and so I ordered several models from different companies. The are so mixed results, I would not have thought in advance. We compared the yet NS400U-101, Sennheiser CX 300-II, Philips SHS8105A, Bose IE2 and after none of them was able to convince me quite yet the AKG K374.
Was tested on a ASUS Xonar Essence STX and on a HTC One X +

Nocs NS400
----------
First, quite satisfied with the Nocs quickly distinguished themselves on the road and playing sports from the first problems. The wearing comfort leaves much to be desired. The cables lose their knitterige form that they get through the delivery, and not get stuck anywhere. A fixation (clip) does not exist and can only schwernachgerüstet due to the flat cable. The weight of the cable looks the guys so regularly from the ears. I was playing sports so more concerned with the in-ears to judge than anything else. Is so extreme never noticed me. The silicone pad tight case actually did very well, but produce a certain pressure in the ear. I felt uncomfortable. The sound is average. Bass sound clean, but slightly too much for my taste. Mids and highs to go that way. The remote control in the cable was a major selling point for me. Unfortunately, this comes from Android 4 virtually nothing (start / stop and call answer). Located on Google and the fixed programming for this key which can only deal with root access. Since Android 4 but has long been on the market and the manufacturer still works with these features that are so not usable, I feel that as a deception. (This problem have all the way in-ear "headset") could not be recommended for the price.

+ Chic design with stylish 1 button-FB
+ The cable is not knotted or rarely

- The cable acts always knitterig
- The FB works under Android only limited (no problem of NOCS, but then you should not sell well)
- Offered app useless
- Fall too quickly from the ear

Sennheiser CX 300-II
------------------
The big letdown in the round! What the hell Sennheiser has only thought with this headset. The highs shrill and sharp, the centers do not exist and the bass just drown everything. If that's a "bathtub" vote, then probably for a diving pool. With many songs I just had to make up or quietly turn, because I just do not endured. Who just wants to hear meaningless Bass, perhaps so that pleasure, but probably it sucks then at some point.

- An absolute disaster

Philips SHS8105
-------------
For the price, the Philips had a little surprise. The processing could indeed be better, but the sound was not so bad. Anyway, much more balanced than the Sennheiser. I would easily classify below the Nocs because the centers here "blächerner" sound. Unfortunately, it was not possible for me despite strap (or perhaps because of the bracket) to fix the headphones firmly in my ear. The temple attracted little take out of the ear. According to the manual, you can bend the bow. This then stops about a minute and slowly goes back. The materials are simply too rigid. In sport we are thus again just busy trying to adjust to because otherwise quite quickly the sound goes down to the basement.

+ A small chic 1-Button FB
+ Small clear Android app with EQ is provided for free

- Very thin cables -> tangled permanently and must be laboriously hanky apart

Bose IE2
-------
Of the Bose I was expecting much since the recessions have suggested a lot of good. Unfortunately, they turned out to be just as average. At least in the sound. Due to the principle that it does not sit directly in the ear canal but slightly outside, they seal off not as strong and bass to be produced much louder on the driver unit to produce the same effect. This makes the membrane even up to a certain frequency just fine with, but then is simple conclusion. The bass is completely missing (I know that most in-ears that does not create), but also during normal bass often lack even alittle bit. I would vote therefore called neutral (although AUDIO does not see it. Probably it goes much more neutral, but then rips music yet?). The sound is overall quite round. The centers are okay and the ups go great with it. Due to the outstanding wearing comfort, I would have kept it almost. The silicone pad with the little extra strap are in fact just great. They sit rock solid and are comfortable to wear. Both on the road during sports. Great. The included clip can be attached to the shirt and begins the cable weight off nicely. Unfortunately, the principle of a catch: you can hear, as I said, the bass worse and is not shielded from the outside world. You can hear everything and the next man on the train can also be said in retrospect the same, how he liked the music selection. ;) I hear certainly not loud, but it's still all good perceptible to the environment. On the bike, the IE2 are fatal. They amplify wind noise and there remain only the mids and highs from the sound on. So comfortable to wear, yet so misses the point ... the surcharge of 40 for the built-in remote I find a lot of nerve. (Which may in the known Android issue not more than the others). The sound I rate overall with only 3/5 stars because here but clearly lacks bass and ... I have heard them in direct comparison to the Sony MDR-EX85LP. The EX85 is a discontinued model and how many Test witness an absolute blast sound. In direct comparison, the Bose see unfortunately quite old. The basses are much deeper, rounder and still accurate at Sony. The middle soft and the heights never intrusive. Taking the Sony and sets a Bose, a immediately a much cooler sound falls on having clearly present heights. Voice sound harsh and I find myself back again, that I have to take turn louder or softer because I can not stand the hard middle. Never a good sign. When Sony that always fits ...

+ Super comfort
+ Bombproof maintenance
+ Cable very high quality and do not get tangled up -> No annoying fumbling apart

- Partially too little bass and then without draft
- Outside noise coming through
- Totally unsuitable for cycling's (reinforce Wind)

AKG K374
---------
Of the AKG I was sadly disappointed. I have, which sound great AKG K550 still. Unfortunately, the "big ones" are are on the go and the long cable makes an ever create. I hoped as that the "little ones" rankommen because at least some extent. Unfortunately, no. The silicone pads are way too hard and sit so rock solid that basses are completely drowned out. Almost at the same level of Sennheiser. I was appalled. Since I could not believe it, I swapped the pillow against which Sony (fit almost all) and lo and behold: the bass is much less, almost balanced, but unfortunately not as good as expected. Before all compared with the MDR-EX85! ..the mids and highs to go with the AKG fine. Compared to the previously tested they were here the best. Unfortunately, there have messed up here really the drowned bass. If the real AKG sound should be .... well, I think they might've been just incompatible with my ear canals. Many praise the sound here is very and can such a mistake otherwise not tell me. For in-ears, and the fit is critical.
The cable is the way, as described often, an absolute disaster. It is rigid and retains even after several days, the fit out of the package in. This sucks already tidy but goes when it is fixed with a clip in sports etc..

+ Great workmanship and stylish plug
+ Cable Although rigid but not tangled

Sony MDR-EX85LP
---------------
Now to my favorites. The MDR-EX85LP in my opinion are clearly the winners. They provide clean, deep basses. Beautifully smooth mid and and matching heights. The stage is good, but was better the IE2 (as this was always more present in the midrange and treble). In everyday life, you can keep carefree in the ear and also likes to turn louder. Your warm sound never annoying! That way, looks just AUDIO) Compared to the other headphones are the "shrill middle" and treble a bit withdrawn, what the precision hurts a bit. Well, so you have to live. On the way, I can always do not listen to every nuance and finally I got it at home, the stereo system or the K550! The comfort is good, but unfortunately they do not sit as bombproof as the IE2. But they can be wrong insertion into the ear canal due to their shape actually never. This should be much more critical at Beyerdynamic and Co. The cables are, unfortunately with the thinnest in the test and I hope so, that are not eventually doomed to Kabeltod. Incidentally, the cable is asymmetric and is passed over the neck. Due to the thin cable to the strings tangled unfortunately very quickly. The eternal fumbling! Originally, the MDR-EX85 were sold for 60 to 80. The price is clearly justified. Unfortunately, they have been taken completely out of the range and there are only a few remaining stock. So if you could get somewhere: ACCESS !!! I mean for 18 get.
