I was looking for a portable solution below my notebook because I surf the internet a lot and need to read texts. Most of all cozy at the dining table or on the road.
Following careful testing in the AppleStore and comparison with the smaller, but also very good Galaxy Tabs I decided then ultimately for the iPad. Largely because of the larger displays. The "restrictions" do not disturb. Because of everything that goes on browsing and Read addition, I have my notebook.
After the first power only goes once nothing. The iPad requires a computer must be running on welchsem iTunes (!).
Then you have to register. While this is all very simple, but looks-at least to me-first repulsive. Not even Microsoft requires such registration.
Once registered then open the home screen. Second "disappointment" - there is probably only times not much. , Receive and send e-mails browsing with Safari, calendar appointments, manage Youtube videos look. Well, that was me, although "aware". Finally, I had the pad a few times under the fingers. As an owner you sit first time there and would have then but expected a little more. But for that will quickly make one thing clear: the iPad can not do everything, but what it can, it can be very good.
The surfing is fast and the menu on screen takes care of me for a totally new surfing experience. If you see a link, you do not only take the mouse to the hand and click on it. A simple touch of the finger is enough. Yes, nothing really new. That was my Tablet PC a few years ago already. By capacitive display but you have not press hard, only touch the shortcut. Very class made.
Ever everything affects the iPad very high quality and well thought out.
Lynchpin of the iPad is for me and the iTunes App Store. What is there available to paid and free apps, and podcasts, is impressive. For my work and leisure I have found a lot of first-class support. The rdesktop App example I can eg fine with our Terminal Server (Windows 2008) work. A Speed Reading program expands my reading skills. A Finance app provides me with all the important information to the markets. Etc. pp.
By Apps is the iPad more than just surfing and Funplattform. I would buy me at any time.
Oh yeah - buy. The iPad is certainly not cheap. But -je inexpensive to Einsatzzweck-.
Finally: The iPad is not a tablet PC or Pocket PC and it will also not all Apps in the world. Who wants to have something is better off with a netbook by far.
