The decision was now to be made between Acronis and O & O, in which I previously under Win7 the product had True Image of erstgenanntem in use. The stored here Reviews Languages majority of O & O DiskImage and so I ordered. 7
First, the big disappointment: instead of my existing 8 HDD partitions (I keep documents, photos, videos and MP3 separately in addition to Windows, programs and recovery files on) showed DiskImage only 6 and could not be persuaded to be more. Here's the customer service comes into play: a corresponding inquiry already arrived a short time later to say and after several email exchanges of letters, all of which were answered quickly and competently, the solution was found (it was the establishment of the HDD). O & O Support: Could not be better!
Why still "only" 4 star: create tasks than TI-Umsteiger bit tedious, but at least used to. Also there is no current in my opinion, very important way, the number of auto-generated image by overwriting the oldest limit. And in the Start display always flaunts the red warning that not all drives are backed up because the external HDD on which the backup is done, one of them. Not bad, but annoying.
If these little things do not exist, are certainly justified 5 star rating: the images themselves are afloat created and processed resource gently on Windows, so that during operation there is nothing to remember from the backup. A medium used for storing and playing back without Windows can be created either as a CD or as a bootable USB stick. Even the (trial basis) replay a backup is simple and manages secure - thus you can access calm in O & O DiskImage definitely.
Update:
take it all back - unfortunately:
O & O DI7 did not work after upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. However, this was not quite as easy to determine, because I realized only after several update notes that these have not been installed and DI7 "depends". Even after reading the instructions O & O community realized that the version of Windows 7 and 8.1 do not work together.
Ok, I was pleased with DI7, so bought update to version 8. Short Version: could have saved me money. First I realized that it is no longer possible for the tasks to designate a time window. This means that the computer after a specified period to be must, otherwise, the task is not done with me backing up the partitions. Toll. Asked customer service and get the answer, that this feature is no longer included, and (very cumbersome) can be integrated via the Windows Task Scheduler. But now the NO-GO: Of course, the position of having to set up Windows again came. No problem've (manually, s. Earlier) secured. So over the created bootable media (USB flash drive) to start the computer and found: DI8 not recognize the USB 3.0 hard drive !!! So backup copies concerned by emergency windows from the CT to a hard drive partition and finally recorded the backup. Next Now check: no matter how, whether with, whether without MBR, nothing works, Windows no longer starts. Only after repair via the Win-rescue media (expanded / "Windows launches more") I get the Windows machine running again. Almost a disaster, my conclusion is therefore: I let 'future fingers away from O & O, Acronis I testweise installed that version 2014 works with Win 8.1, backups are started automatically with time windows and imported mainly from USB3.0 hard disk easily. Too bad, O & O.
