The Bit.Trip series shows very well what game designers can do when they are not trimmed from major publishers on developing mass-market and profit promising games. The games are all sticking with, kept technically aware at the lowest level and also otherwise little in common with the typical mass-market blockbusters. And precisely because they are so good. They manage a virtuoso to combine imagery with rhythm and melodies and to motivate players to remain even after the 50th attempt it.
