Before I go into the Roccat Tyon, first let me briefly say something about me: The Roccat Tyon was my first experience with Roccat products. Previously I have used for nearly 2 years, a Logitech G700 and was very pleased. Now for my laptop I wanted to try out a different brand and I am Discovered the Tyon.
Packaging and shipping were top and tadelos. The installation of Tyon went smoothly. The mouse made on me in material and workmanship a good impression. The configuration software package can install easily and the fun could begin. Unfortunately, this lasted only briefly. The first problem occurred when configuring the keys with me. The rear of the two side buttons on the Tyon seemed to stall. Say the key lies to press, but it took a good 5 seconds until they jumped back and could be pressed again. I had the impression that the key was not clean razor made of plastic mold and repeatedly short was stuck by the protruding plastic in Tyon. After some use, the time shortened, but playing it was still very disabling. After about a week use the problem was gone. Presumably, the plastic has worn down that it no longer depended more firmly. In a mouse worth 99, - Euro, this is for me, however, a no-go.
The second problem occurred after just over a month. The lateral thrust control mouse no longer bounced back to the center position. If the controller has been pushed down, this is no longer jumped back to the center position, but stayed down. So I had to drag him into the center position each time by hand (fingers) again. However, the upper suspension worked yet. Apparently the lower spring is broken. Either I had very unlucky internally fitted with my Tyon or there are really bad materials. A spring should not break after a month of normal use.
A further point I would like to complain about, is the pre-defined Easy-Shift key. This is operated by thumb. The location of the button makes it impossible, in my view, to prove the two side buttons twice, because the button must be kept pressed for the use of the Easy-Shift. Either hold Easy-Shift pressed or operate the two side buttons' thumb. Both at the same time I found to be extremely unpleasant and unwieldy. The button can be reconfigured, but at a gaming mouse, I expect just that the buttons are ergonomically placed and good sense.
Overall I give the Tyon even 2 stars. In the short time I was able to use functional, it provided a very good job. Due to the size and the maneuverability Tyon for me even a super substitute for G700 would have been. This is relatively large and heavy compared to the Tyon. If the jammed page button was the only problem I would have given 4 or even 5 stars. However, since the spring of the thrust regulator is broken after one month and the location of the Easy-Shift key in my view is far from ergonomic stay here left for me only 2 stars. A Real Shame.
Many Greetings,
Miles
