by now catchier use of Nokia Lumia 830 smartphone, I would like to ask my review available.
I personally very much like most smartphones, I apologize in advance before that my review perhaps a little more detail fails.
If you do not want to read a lot, you my short conclusion could possibly be enough. Otherwise, I wish you much perseverance, but who want to invest a lot of money, should be able to expect a hopefully sufficiently informative review. Here we go ...
Packaging / perceived quality:
The Lumia 830 comes in a reasonably large packaging. Apart from the actual 5-inch smartphone is still the associated battery, a USB charging cable including power adapter included. The accompanying Quick Start Guide is as the name suggests, quite tight. The first steps after the initial setup, including Microsoft account are quite intuitive and clear especially in relation to data protection in my opinion all right on.
In terms of build quality, I am very excited. The brushed aluminum frame is very valuable. The remainder in the form of front (Gorilla Glass) is also very high. I am the effect very enthusiastic. The back is adorned with a plastic cover that can be personalized even subsequently by other colors. However, this is not the yellow of the egg, since it takes a few clicks to install it correctly. Is this hurdle but managed as a really attractive device waits for his real property ... to be used.
If we divide time the technical data:
-5.0 Inch HD IPS LCD display with HD 720p resolution (1280x720 pixels)
-> The resolution is in my humble opinion absolutely sufficient. Certainly a Full HD display would have been possible, but who do not just 4cm with eyes sitting in front of the display, each pixel does not recognize my opinion. To my mind so completely sufficient.
-Snapdragon 400 Quad Core 1.2GHz processor
-> For small office activities, surfing the web, checking email and playing the processor is absolutely fine. Everything runs very smoothly and it hooks nothing. More processing power is in principle always, but in the overall result of the Snapdragon 400 is simple perfectly adequate and therefore very fitting.
-10 Megapixel PureView camera from Zeiss and a front camera with 0.9 Megapixel Wide.
-> The images of course, never reach a compact camera or a DSLR, but that should be the inclined buyer also clear. For snapshots and even small series of images perfectly adequate and I think in a very good quality for smartphones. In video mode, the camera shoots in Full HD (1920x1080 pixels so) on / 30 frames per second. The videos meet my humble opinion a good quality.
Even the front camera (for Selfies) still has a pleasing quality provided here but also true ambient light. All in all a really good camera for smartphones. In video mode, the front camera takes still in HD on (which corresponds to turn 1280x720 pixels).
- RAM: 1GB
-> The Lumia 830 does have only 1GB of RAM, but Windows Phone 8.1 is in my opinion no recourcenhungriges operating system. Even those who have multiple programs open, can sufficiently fast switch between these. Thus, no obstacle which the RAM capacity diminishes. Again, that would have been more naturally beautiful, but in general it can be said simply that the system is not slowed down by 1GB RAM.
- 16GB Memory / permanently installed
-> Today, Standard and perfectly adequate in this price range. Who wants to have more storage may present to buy microSD cards with up to 128 GB. On storage at the latest should be no more shortage.
- SIM Card Type: SIM Nano (which is currently the smallest form of SIM card). The Lumia 830 comes with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, and this in my opinion is really very pleasant. Even when switching from IOS or Android should accustom go quite quickly. The respective tiles can (where not every app same sizes pretend) and changed to the arrangement on the homescreen according to your wishes in size. Who is as usual on the Iphone only folder or Appsymbole, will once slay something visually. In my opinion, you get used to quite quickly to the tiles that are sometimes (depending on the app) and constantly updated in the background. It can of course also be formed folders, then spend the respective apps in their subfolders.
In general, the configuration options are quite varied. Here you have to go through but to have actually only activates the point by point, which seems important for a.
A cool new feature for me was for example the 2x tap the screen to look up briefly, whether a call, an email or the like has been received. I knew so far of any I know of device or operating system.
The battery is replaceable, adequately dimensioned with 2200 mAh, so to get along with ordinary use at least 1 day. Who checked just emails, a little phone, surfs a bit, can also quite two days break.
What programs and the resulting benefits associated brings the Lumia 830 with it?
- Office with Word, Excel and PowerPoint pre-installed. Very handy if you want to make small adjustments to the move tables or documents. In order to write a complete letter makes no sense in my eyes, but that remains up to you.
- Mixradio a streaming service Spotify or Rdio for example, etc. This service is free here, though you may skipping only a limited number of songs per hour here. I've had enough of the free offer. Those who want can of course upgrade costs on the Plus service.
- With HERE Maps and HERE Drive + They have a free navigation software pre-installed (both online and offline).
- OneDrive online storage / cloud storage for the storage of documents, images, etc. in the cloud.
Otherwise, of course can be loaded more apps from the hotel's own store. The Appauswahl currently does not come close to IOS and Android, but there is enough selection of different apps to my mind.
What has struck me otherwise?
As the typical creature of habit one naturally has to a particular operating system used (in my IOS and Android with swabs). Therefore, some things are a little different at first, or will not run in the same manner. Here you have to just give some time to the other operating system has indeed given the time.
But there are some points that I just would not recognize and find them very well resolved. Windows Phone 8.1 is my feeling after a really good and so far also stable operating system.
Strangely, no headphones or a headset were there included. Basically, I am indeed eh not a fan of bad headsets, but better a favorable case, than none. I do not usually use these headsets anyway, so for me that is not a negative aspect.
Conclusion:
Windows Phone 8.1 was completely new territory for me. The Lumia 830 is a really good smartphone for the price you wanted. The materials used are high-quality in my opinion. The Lumia 830 also makes under the hood a lot of fun. On the surface, the processor, RAM, etc. are not pushed to the end, but they have not, because the Lumia 830 running Windows Phone 8.1 very balanced and really fast. Therefore, I can the Lumia 830. recommend any transfer passengers and also like a newcomer. I like the price / performance ratio very good, so I can give a very clear conscience full 5 stars.
