I ordered the Lumia two weeks ago and tried out a few days, but that was enough for the decision to be sent back there. It was thus that the first product I've ever sent back.
First the positives:
+ Look and feel: The device looks quite chic. Is well made.
+ Software: With Nokia always included free of charge, offline navigation. Is really what fine and one of my main reasons for me to decide for Nokia and Windows Phone
+ Memory is expandable. (Unfortunately, you can not do anything to the external memory. For example the Nokia Maps)
+ Display: Resolution and presentation are really razor sharp
+ Synchronization: The synchronization of data with my old Nokia cell phone was very easy and the synchronization with Google was quick to set up.
Contrary to my expectations ~ I could write relatively quickly with the touch screen.
~ For the tiles, there are only a limited range of colors. Who the display but does not want to have so bright (also to save the battery), there is no color.
~ Arrangement of the Apps For Windows Phone, there are only two places, are stored on shortcuts for apps. Directly on the home page (tiles) or in a site with all application. Both I find quite confusing. One can not anorden in the folder applications also.
~ When mobile is stated that it would have 8GB memory, the phone shows only 7.2. In the "normal false" Auslegeng 1Kb = 1000b! = 1024b, it should have been 7.5GB. Only 5 of the 7.2 can be used, the rest is used by the system.
Now the return reasons. Mainly me the Software disturbed, but then subsided than the hardware, I had no desire to part
- OS Windows Phone:
- The alarm clock is terrible. Why ask me an alarm clock if he is to ring again. Any other alarm goes off again, especially when there is no response. The question then remains three hours on the display. I overslept anyway.
- No File Explorer. You can not move data from the internal memory to MicroSD.
- Data counters: I do not have flat rates but inclusive minutes, SMS and MB. For Windows Phone, there is no reasonable counter. SMS and minutes can be upgraded via App. To data counting come with the next version of Windows, it must also be enabled by the provider. The functionality there's even on my 17 Samsung GT-E1200.
- Email retrieval: Most email clients support the retrieval of the message header. Windows Phone but not every message will always be retrieved completely. No setting option
- Synchronization with Google incomplete: The fields in the contacts must be set correctly to Google when Google phone for example is Business selected, the number is not synchronized. In addition, only the first calendar is synchronized.
- Birthdays of contacts are not displayed in the calendar. (Could Nokia never, but I was always bothered)
- No profiles: In the past you could choose between multiple profiles and this can even activate depending on the time. So I had in the office always a discreet ring tone, vibration and night in my spare the ringtone of my choice. With Windows Phone but it is so that there is only sound on or off. It goes so far that the volume is system wide, so if I turn up the volume for music or videos, then the phone rings the next time even louder.
- The display has sometimes not responding to taps and swiping.
---- Already after a few days, the unit could no longer activate. Do not know if this was a hardware failure, or if the OS has crashed. When I connected it to the charger, it has only turned back on, but is stuck at boot time. It helped to get out battery. Since my last Nokia also eventually could no longer turn on, it went back.
