The MDR-55 is one in my opinion, in the category of less than 100, - EUR (and largely beyond) to the best of its kind I got to the last few weeks again compare a lot and realize a fascinating sound that I in this price range. did not expect. As DJ headphones for almost 15 years a fan of HD-25 I'm going from Sennheiser, this is, however, also in a higher price range. As a "private" headphones for home and away has the MDR-55 extremely rich bass, an amazingly transparent stereo imaging and dynamic, crisp height resolution. Overall a very digital, but this pleasant and punchy sound perception. The comfort is also easy and pressure-free. In the upper mids (particularly strings) it tends to slightly over-emphasis, which manifests itself especially in extremely dynamic sequences (eg Classical) noticeable. Otherwise, there are no concerns with Pop, RnB or House.
Top course is still air (I dare as a trained sound engineer) to assert in this price range I am however totally fascinated and my girlfriend will equal one more interesting products. The currently hyped DR. Dre Beats earcups are against a bitter disappointment for every audiophile ear.
