Without alternative price-performance ratio

First things first: The Scala Rider is a solid intercom with good to very good voice quality. His main purpose fulfilled it with flying colors. The specified range is true about. Disconnections do not occur in my type of use (day trips with 2 motorcycles, distance usually about from 50 to 150 meters). (Rear / r driver / in has suddenly stopped, took a wrong turn, and so on ...) Even in case of problems there is enough time to disconnect, to inform the person in front. The phone connection via Bluetooth and music playback via cable (3,5 jack) works flawlessly. Operation while driving is to be managed well even when wearing thick gloves. One battery charge lasts for about 9 hours (non-stop music, occasional talks, battery age 1 year)

Unfortunately have emerged over time (use for about a year) also a few problems. Since the claims are different, I list only on here without Rating:

- Microphone sensitivity can not be adjusted, especially with jet helmet-use or open visor therefore do have to be prepared for wind noise in the ear
- Voice Control possesses some inertia, it is best to blows before spoken briefly into the microphone, otherwise go the opening words lost. After ending the call, it often takes a small eternity before the automatic switch off. This is particularly annoying when incidentally runs music
Theme music: the issues raised by other reviewers gripe that the music playback is too quiet, I do not share. (But also depends on the helmet) However, the music volume is not controlled along that needs to be done on each player.
- Music playback is not possible without radio unit. Ie who wants to use the already built-in headset multi-day tours as a solo headphones, even the radio module must be charged in addition to the player ever. This is bad if you are camping.
- Charging during travel via 12V socket is not working. (If someone has found a solution, please contact !!)
- Battery can not be exchanged
- The headphones of the headset are not bad, but not outstanding. Unfortunately, they are firmly connected and not interchangeable.
- Built-in radio completely unnecessary because unusable

My conclusion: For day trips for two good and in the price range currently no alternative headset with (almost) everything I need. For the longer tour outside the hotel accommodation unfortunately unusable because the permanently installed battery can replace neither during load driving, even by a separately charged spare battery. (However, for a total of about 210 can be obtained at Cardo two spare radio modules plus 12V chargers ;-))
