I had read some reviews found that criticize the reliability of this equipment. Here I have to say clearly that I (ie 4 months) have the unit since the beginning of March without a crash or dropouts in the office use.
With us an analog telephone and fax is connected and it works absolutely reliable.
Advantage of the device is:
- We can cost effectively improve the Fritz box by two additional analog ports.
- The router function can be integrated into an existing network is very simple, without losing a connection (as opposed to normal "CISCO 2 Port Phone Adapter"). We have been simply clamped between the PC.
However, the device also has a few small drawbacks:
- The configuration is clearly designed for professionals. One is struck by the formal settings. But as already written, there are good instructions which you can connect your device as a layman via VOIP to the Fritz box.
- When one makes a call or send a fax, the unit will begrudge a few commemorative seconds it but you get used to (may be that this is just a state of mind)
Conclusion:
Since corded telephones and fax machines are still standard in the office everyday, but the Fritz box has only two analog ports, I am glad to have found this device ;-)
