Application: stream PS4 games in another room
Network: PS4Lan Gigabit Switch GigabitFritzbox-500MbitPowerLineDLAN-PSTV
Tested Games: The Last of Us, Destiny, watchdogs
Video quality: 720p, slightly lower level of detail than directly on PS4 at 1080p, but still ok, liquid, no delay
Control: Liquid, input reacts immediately, no delay recognizable
With me PSTV working properly when connected via LAN / DLAN. Test way I once tried WLAN (PSTV-Fritz box), because the graphics deteriorated once it jerky and there are artifacts. I knew that but before, so I've just ordered the TPLINK powerline.
I'd like to assume, then, that all the awarded only 1 star here in reality have a slow network. Possibly even Sony has corrected problems with the current FW on the device, which I have so no longer noticed. At least that part works great and for 49 (but was unfortunately only briefly reduced the red market) it's class for PS4 streaming.
1 star deduction, since the Network Media Player (app) can play Sony-typical no popular video formats from local DLNA server (Twonky). If it could not, the device would be perfect.
## Addendum to Remote Play via Internet:
Connection: PS4Lan-GBitSwitch-GBitFritzbox-VDSL50MbitDown10MBitUp-Glasfaser100MBitDown10MbitUp-GBitFritzbox-PSTVLan
tested game: Watchdogs
Video quality: 720p, significantly lower level of detail than directly on PS4 at 1080p and somewhat lower level of detail than in remote play on the home network, with fast car chases / moves a bit muddy in the distant background, but adequate video quality and sufficient details, image very fluid at close range, no stuttering or artifacts.
Control: Liquid, input reacts immediately, minimal delay I am surprised that the remote play via the Internet works so well. Logically you have to make concessions in the graphics, but the game flow forth it works flawlessly. You have to try really long, until one ever recognizes a minimal lag. Perceiving one in the game does not do the.
Also the connection and switching on the PS4 via the internet worked flawlessly. For this, I had released the appropriate ports (TCP9295, UDP9296 / 7) in the Fritz box.
I'll try the whole thing again with a somewhat poorer DSL connection and then the result of late filing.
