Below a really short review of Digitus adapter cable. This also refers mainly to the connection of the hard drives on IDE
I have tried the adapter just spontaneously only with a Western Digital WD800 hard drive (80GB, IDE).
First I have to get rid of something important for connecting the hard drive to the adapter. Some here the hard drive seems to be smoked after connecting the adapter. I can only speculate, but the IDE connector (ATAPI-40) of the adapter is narrower than the IDE connector on the hard drive! It is thus possible without problems Buichse added to put the port on the drive. Normally this should be the socket side prevented through the nose in the middle and covered Pin 20. When adapter pin 20 but is open and the nose too shallow and too narrow. A staggered placement of the connector is therefore possible without any problems !! When connecting for the 2.5 "drives (ATAPI-44) of the pin on the connector is the way blocked correctly.
Pin 20 is not actually occupied. But is different from the standard, partly also used for power supply (eg for Disk on Module Flash memory). If the adapter can deliver on Pin 20 5V I imagine that a short circuit is generated by the vesetzte touchdown. One Nachbarpin (22) namely GND (ground).
For performance, I can not only provide a random value. I have copied a 4GB Kubuntu 10:04 big file on the disk. The write speed was constant at 31MB / s. Thus, the adapter is faster than my external NoName housing.
What I lack is a switch on the secondary-side terminal of the power supply. Then one would not always crawl under the desk to disable the hard drive.
So far I am very pleasantly surprised how performant and easily the adapter works. If "PC specialists" around the corner of the adapter costs almost incidentally 30th
