I use the switch to the mouse and keyboard between my Windows gaming computer and my Ubuntu workstation back and forth. The switch works without installation of additional drivers instantly and easily on Ubuntu 4.14 LTS. The attached to the switch cable are all long enough.

Can only recommend the switch.
