I bought it to connect an external monitor to my MacBook Air mid-2013 (connected to the Thunderbolt port, so).
Works very well, the display quality is the same as the Apple adapter but seems sensitive to the quality of the cables. This may work with some cables, and reveal artifacts / snow with others.
I work in a coworking space so I can use a different cable if one or the other does not. I still do not know if it's the adapter or cables which are sensitive
No Displayport tested.
