I discovered Frédéric Lenoir in this item. Since then, I have read several of his other books, including "Healing of the World" which is a monument of intelligence and reading urgently! This little treatise, I bought it as a gift. Because it is a gift. It is one of those books whose reading can change your life. Not drastically of course, but simply by the realization that his inner life is fundamental to its own balance, for the balance of the World. The pages dealing with concepts like love, friendship, ... organized by chapters. Frédéric Lenoir who led the "world religions" is also a novelist, essayist, writer, sociologist, philosopher ... He spent three years in the Christian community of St John, went to India to live with Buddhist monks Tibetans, ... obtained a doctoral thesis on Buddhism with congratulation of the jury unanimously. This man knows what he's talking but it also knows how. Its immense philosophical and spiritual knowledge does not prevent him from expressing things with simple and well-chosen words. This "Small Treaty of inner life", easy to access, is for me the first book to read when we are interested in the spirituality and we are still not much known. Certainly, this little book is over the core issues but it has the great merit of bringing in a few sentences universal answers, shared by all religions or philosophies. After reading it, you will realize that on the most essential points of our existence, Socrates, Jesus and Mahomet come together and we share the same values.
