Having previously used Paint Shop Pro, I have now decided after talks with acquaintances for Photoshop Elements 11. To put it briefly summarize: I see the purchase of Photohop element as wrong decision - but is probably because I am used to the use of Paint Shop Pro. My Mistake. Nevertheless 3 star deduction for these 5 points: - The software is supplied without a guide, there are only a booklet "Getting Started" - The help texts are not available offline. - When you click on the help of the software you end up always on Internet sites with English help texts (!). Here, since the menu descriptions are not the same as in the German language, this is annoying even with good English skills. (If anyone knows how to change the default setting here - I am grateful for a hint.) In some cases, you can access over the Internet on German help texts, partly you end up in the details and then again in English help texts. - I feel the help pages as confusing and lyrics partly as difficult to understand. Some of the help texts refer to Mac's and are not unique to Windows users. (What is the "Option key" on Windows ?? - Some help texts is then further explained: Alt key on Windows = 10 - 15 Read minutes through help texts). - Telephone Support almost absent as software vendors usual in practice.
I get the impression that you here with the arrogance of a leader of US attempts sales in Europe / Germany take. When the user comes clear with the software - okay, if not - it's sold, made the sales. And nice for those who write books and then (= with license fee ?? sales again ??) specially sell.
Who is already accustomed to Photoshop may be based on other recessions. The switchers I recommend to look before buying time in the help text and understand a number of important functions for themselves. I go to this "frustration of the soul write" back to the help texts ...
