The Xbox 360 is my first console since Nintento 64. So far I have (on the part of manufacturers much too loud, hot and restrictions) hesitated in front of the "next-gen" consoles because of the unacceptable circumstances. After I've read through the early praise for the new Slim, I decided to buy one. Since I'm just casual gamers, my decision was made for the 4 GB version. The advantages and disadvantages are obvious here: The fast flash memory can be heard compared to the 250GB variant no more hard drive to work, even if it is very quiet. The disadvantage is of course the low disk space for games, videos, music, demos and movies. I opted for the cheaper option, as these in combination with a (fast as possible) USB flash drive ("16GB CnMemory Mistral") provides enough space for my application purposes. At this point I would like to address one at a disadvantage the console: Although the console has 5 (2 front, 3 rear) USB ports, but you can see the maximum 2 supported USB sticks (1-16 GB) only on the front Attach. This looks to a be nice to others and interferes with the flashing LED on the USB stick. Why Microsoft brings such an (unnecessary) limitation, myself do not know the where. In addition to flash memory also "normal" hard drives can be used with magnetic disks. Again arise again 2 disadvantages when compared to flash memories. The performance here is worse than in flash memory, since the XBox fast memory access times are critical. This affects loading and the actual performance of the games. Second drawback is that even here only a maximum of 16 GB will be provided by the console, no matter how many terabytes has the plate. This is therefore owed that Microsoft wants to keep consoles with integrated hard disk attractive for the market.
Now to the console itself. Everyone is allowed a flat-screen TV its own name, does not come around to buying a HDMI cable when in the best possible resolution play möchte.Das AV cable I therefore do not even try. Once connected and powered via the controller, it is also going on already. In terms of volume, much has happened. Initially, the CPU in 90nm process was produced. Now that you arrived at 45 nm, with the same power requires less energy and produces less waste heat. Nevertheless, at the console still no talk of "silent" may be. The fan still operate audible, the drive will contribute to a (at least when reading the disc). However, once the tone sounds from the speakers, the console is no longer heard (which is not the case with its predecessors). In terms of connectivity, it has done something. Microsoft has finally managed to integrate WiFi into the console. It was previously a nerve, with the optional WiFi module abzukassieren again. Who has no wireless need not be worried as the LAN connection has remained apart from the three rear USB ports. Games can be quickly and easily installed on the external storage. For "blur" the process took the "16GB CnMemory Mistral" stick only 3 minutes. The game takes a 5.4 GB on the drive. This should be about 4 games can take place on a 16 GB memory. By installing games content load faster and the drive remains except when reading the disc dumb. This protects the drive next to the ears.
In total there are 5 star. The console is now what you have expected from the outset.
