The reference model for a perfect wireless keyboard with touchpad is for me the Keysonic ACK-540 RF. This is almost perfect in my eyes. No longer available. Or only used to a much higher price than new.
By following keyboards I have gained experience: Keysonic ACK 540U, Keysonic ACK-540 RF +, Logitech K400, Rapoo E9180P and Microsoft All-in-One Media.
Below is a short list of my experiences. Who does not want to read on: My winner is the All-in-One Media from Microsoft (long-term experience I have not but ...)
- Keysonic ACK 540U, Keysonic ACK-540 RF +:
Advantage: Relatively good processing, good keystroke, good touchpad.
Disadvantage: The battery life. My reference model ACK 540RF has in me (continuous use per day about 8 hours.) A battery pack every 3 months !! required. The new models eat electricity. After 2 weeks of new batteries were overdue. The difference is so huge. The 540RF + is therefore a worse successor. Even otherwise been saved. Haptics, processing etc.
- Logitech K400: The great reviews of this keyboard are a mystery to me. I had several in use.
Advantage: Reasonable price, very, very easy. Great surface for cleaning. Relatively little battery consumption.
Disadvantage: Easy cheap. The keypad consists of truly thinnest plastic and is dimensionally stable. With both hands, the keyboard is easy to forgive. Very easy even. The reception is mediocre and the touchpad has exhibited a malfunction in all keypads after a certain time.
- Rapoo E9180P: This keyboard is a keyboard for Blender expensive price for me.
Advantage: Damn pretty, very high at first processing, nice weight (I mags slightly heavier), perfect touch pad (at least for a while), great feel and very nice finish
Disadvantage: After a short time the keys begin to wear off and it also created not to remove shine spots (so circa after 2 weeks of continuous use). In the company look 10! Year-old Logitech keyboards, however fabulous .... battery wear. Incredibly and surprisingly not always the same. Some of the batteries have 1 week only held (I use only Duracell). With frequent use, the aluminum back bends easily (but you can with feeling back bend). From 4x 3x 9180P are defective within the first 6 months. Either function keys do no longer, or make duplicate keys versions, faulty touchpad functions, etc. For a short time a great keyboard. Then scrap. Rapoo even asks to no service ...
- Micrsoft All-in-One Media:
Advantage: Stable !!!! This is the most stable of all the keyboard. Even more stable than my reference model. This keyboard I dare to even a fall. I have tried it but of course not. Great keystroke. Extremely quiet. Better than in my reference model. Even the hot keys are recognized under Linux. On Windows anyway. Present perfect weight. Not too heavy and not too light.
Disadvantage: The touchpad still. That may be normal - but annoying. Because this should not be. The battery compartment is on some models heavily on (I have 3x keyboards). The optics I find not so super. The color would be ok. But the plastic is not flawless. There are clearly find some production tracks. A keyboard was even scratched and was replaced.
Perfect is nothing in the world. If the keyboard does not wear out as fast as the Rapoo or the Logitech this is worth the money paid anyway. Over the long-term quality I will later (as in 6 months) report.
Addendum of 14/09/2014:
One of the keyboards now has approximately 340 operating hours behind them. Battery consumption is really very, very good. Have so far only 1x the batteries changed. Top and better than the competition I know. But: The keyboard begins to "warp" and squeak. All connecting screws have become loose .... Have these now tightened with a screwdriver again and now everything is ok still find this but a poor performance. The keyboard has never fallen down or the like. Is just used. On the keys and touchpad you can already see slight signs of wear. But nothing tragic yet visible. Depreciation on 3 stars.
PS: still would buy me the keyboard still. For I know currently no better HTPC keyboard with touchpad. And I use the keyboard significantly more than the average ...
Addendum of 13/02/2015:
The keyboards still work without any problems. Another wear the keys is no longer visible. Keep My tightened screws. Since nothing has solved. Very nice. Appreciation to 4 stars. For me not erfindlichen reasons the keyboard now more current needs. Now you change the batteries 1x month. These are then approximately halvoll; but the radio link decreases. Maybe it's also easy on the batteries. Are still Duracell. But I have now may notice variations in quality even with Duracell batteries.
PS: I am using the keyboard very, very satisfied. I would buy me no more. The quality is really good. I Hammer on day 10 hrs. On this keyboard and abusing it by something. It was supposed to be a Media PC keyboard yes. For me it is in the office ... Yes, Microsoft. Your might be real still build or build hardware.
