*** Design / Handling ***
The design of the Mobius compared to Hero3 differs markedly. Especially for use on airplanes and FPV Quad racers, there is the enormous advantage of Mobius to produce no such high air resistance.
The operation is quite simple. Unfortunately, you can not make any settings on the camera itself. There's always a need for a PC. Here the Hero3 has the edge. Otherwise, the operation is very simple and intuitive and easy to understand.
*** Recording quality ***
Besides being the Hero3 (. In Black Ed) provides 60 FPS at FHD and the Mobius (only) 30 FPS with FHD, the picture quality considering the price is surprising: Between the Hero3 and the Mobius can even after prolonged Compare actually not really recognize differences in image quality. The image of Mobius is as sharp and the color reproduction is excellent.
Short Conclusion for recording quality: Who can do without at FHD at 60fps, can safely access to significantly cheaper Mobius. Added value of Gopro I can not see beyond the best of intentions.
*** FPV Live Output ***
For many pilots that is probably interesting: What is the image quality during live output. I have connected to my Mobius ImmersionRC transmitter and agree flew a few laps. Unfortunately, I must deduct the star:
I can compare the image quality with a Fatshark 700TVL, 600TVL and a GoPro. For me, I have to say, unfortunately: The Live-out image of Mobius is much fuzzier than that of all other cameras. Although you can fly it, but really can not be seen much. In addition, the live output brightness control is a little weak, so that the ground like sinking into the black, if you fly to the sun.
Hence my conclusion: The 700TVL of Fatshark provides mE the best live image, followed by Hero3 and 600TVL at the same level. The Mobius cuts here from the worst. Although the result of the Mobius is not a disaster; you can certainly use the live image even when the Mobius. However, the experienced pilot FPV is not overly happy here.
Important notice: Live-out and recording video are fundamentally different. The aforementioned criticism of the Live-out image is not reflected in the recording.
*** Gesamtfazit ***
The Mobius is a streamlined full HD camera with very good recording image that does not hide behind the more expensive Actioncams needs. You have to make compromises in usability. For Live-out FPV I would recommend only limited.
Overall, however, I like this Cam considering the price. Maybe come so future software updates that have improved the live image a bit.
