Packaging & Accessories:
Even the relatively thin packaging gives an idea of what the S3 for a hip flask. In the box you will find next to the device or the AC adapter (much smaller than they were accustomed to power supplies), manuals and quick information booklet. DVD or CD is no case, including, the S3 has no optical drive. It is therefore advisable to purchase an external burner (I have a Samsung SE-S084, which is great), to apply immediately after the first time a "Repair Disk" or to install an antivirus (can be that which is on DVD ^^). Appearance of:
First of all: The S3 is actually as flat as in the pictures, it's really amazing! I have my iPhone laid beside and you can already see that the Ultrabook is not quite so flat, but much is not missing there! In addition, falls on compared to the MacBook Air, that the Acer S3 is much more evenly on the thickness. The MB Air is front mistaken thin (thinner than the S3), and then getting "thicker". I personally like the less strong wedge shape of the S3 better. Even at the very low weight (1,33kg) I have to get used to only - my old notebook weighed almost 3kg.

Operating noise:
When you turn on the notebook, you can hear: There is noise, especially in "full load". But if the notebook is not being "stressed out", it is mistaken quietly. I suspect that you will hardly notice the fan noise in the busy university operation. Right now I have Ultrabook PC and run simultaneously and hear hardly the Acer. But it is true, if one is silent PCs usual (I am not), one of the fan might get on your nerves.

The question of all questions in the notebook ianern: Mirrors the display? Let's put it like this: When switched off you can ever judge the hairstyle - but if it is, it's over with reflections. I discovered only with difficulty reflections when switched on, and that was only possible in very tight angle and viewing direction light source (window).

Keyboard & Touchpad:
The keyboard is good. Of course it is very shallow, there simply is no longer square. Basically, it looks like Apple's, but just gray instead of black. It works in any case very high. The criticized small cursor keys are indeed small - but can be good use anyway - have played as a test an online game where you control just using the cursor keys and went really well. The touchpad makes a great impression, the buttons are invisible, that is visually integrated (you can see in the photos eh very good).

Speakers & Interfaces:
Surprised, I'm from the speakers. You're going to ask, speakers? Yes, exactly, I still do not know where they are, but they are there !! And they sound not bad considering how crazy flat, the Acer S3. You can complain about possibly that there are only 2 USB ports, but in all honesty: so far I have not needed any more and I had already been infected so few, ranging from hard drives on mouse up to the external burner with Y-USB cable.

But who sympathizes of the optics with a MacBook prefer Windows 7 uses, is well advised with the Acer Aspire S3. Quickstart:
The quick start from the sleep mode is in my opinion well done - when you snap shut the Ultrabook, it slumbers gently away - if you open up again a short time later, it's right back (PW input: enter PW + Enter = Desktop immediately because !). I find this very handy. Even the normal startup goes really quickly to my mind.

Webcam & battery:
The webcam is 1.3 megapixel not outstanding, but that's standard for subnotebooks and even large laptops have built no better Cams. Asus has ultramodern subnotebooks (U36JC) even equipped with 0.3 MP cameras. Battery life is titled with 7 hours if there are effective for 5 hours then I find it super.

Bad points:
Now I've been thinking for a while what I was still negative could be said about the Acer. There are probably at so some hardware (hard disk, RAM) as usual not served the finest brand stuff. Acer built yes (formerly at least) with preference Hitachi hard drives and Nanya memory. But works just as well and it is anything but really very very good. It's now just a guess, from left right which also did not, I would have to analyze times and as soon as I know more precisely, I edit it again in here. And these pre-installed garbage is annoying, I need neither a game nor any shortcut links, where I can buy something. The course you can delete all or uninstall therefore counts the now not seriously than downside, that would be unfair. Small deductions there is an audible fan, which turns even during normal surfing - which can be annoying in a quiet room well.
