Was looking for a receiver with:
- Large hard disk: Meets
- Twin Tuner: Meets
- HDMI connection: Meets
- Optical audio output: Meets
Therefore fits like chalk and cheese!
Commissioning was quick and painless! Plugging (1 or 2 satellite cable), turn it on and get going. Easy setup, wonderful!
Using it is simple and relatively self-explanatory. Cutting for shots would certainly pleasant.
This recording is through the EPG of TVTV so damn comfortable as you want and even pick up things that you not at all want to see, to be able to program just as fundamental to the device ;-)
4 images at once and then can still see what you want, that's what I was doing! I hated it when I had to see with my Nokia I've recorded. What do I record something? Because several things come, I want to see, or because I'm not at home.
Small drawback: recordings start partly too late or too early to hear. But think that is the EPG, which not pretending the times quite right.
UPDATE: Humax says that is the EPG, which is provided by TVTV available. TVTV blames in reported times the transmitter. The EPG problem has now been banned apparently. All recordings are complete.
Missing interface function has been already mentioned.
Would also be useful if you could mark recordings in the recording list and then can delete all selected at once. Otherwise, this is a long process.
UPDATE: this function it! Only it knew the ambitious Harmony users not: -D thanks to Bluesboy!
The volume is the way it is precisely when a HDD is installed. But goes into the TV noise under well.
FOR HD picture can I not say anything yet, because the conversion is not finished yet and therefore the LCD is not ordered. But the Sony rear projection image compared to Nokia was again much better!
Sound through the optical output is perfect! Only when switching from Dobly program on stereo program you have to turn down the volume manually, as this will otherwise be spent, somewhat louder.
EGP is a great thing! Saves the program guide, or zapping! Had the iCord initially but in the bedroom, because it was totally annoying when the receiver has updated middle of the night the EPG. Here is a time setting would be useful.
Have you just seen? NO? NO PROBLEM! The iCord records everything what you see! So you can, even if no recording has been programmed or started, simply rewind time if there was a good scene similar! And up to 2 hours! WOW!
Remote looked good, use the receiver, however, with a Harmony1000.
All in all a good unit. What is, however, one has to honestly say to the price must be expected too!
As soon as I can watch TV via HDMI, I will write again here possibly a supplement.

As promised there an update as soon as the iCord may reflect his pictures in HD! For 2 weeks he does that now and how should I say ... he does it, AND HOW !!!
MADNESS! Here the iCord is extremely powerful!
Have the unit at the Samsung LE52B750 (this also comes soon a review from me!) And the two go together like chalk and cheese.
The iCord gives Samsung the image in FullHD via HDMI. Anyway the good image again a cherry on top of the Samsung skin.
Digital satellite TV, Full HD LCD TV, HDMI transmission: there can be only one! The iCord is perfect!
Am already thinking whether I should give him the 5th star now or not.
As there was no further SWUpdate and persist the small problems I'll keep the star time being with me. Maybe it makes me in the coming weeks with the HDBild still so happy that I get out Space out the star;)
UPDATE 27/12/2011: SKY
Use since Ettlich months already in Sky iCord. Was realized the whole thing with a AlphaCrypt Light Module.
The functionality is given. Not as high-end as the default currently advertised Sky + HD receivers, but I wanted to continue to use the iCord.
Sometimes it happens, however, that I record SKY programs and has to decode the first reputation. Then it comes from, and to provide that the subsequent decryption does not work out. That's too bad ...
The additional functions, for example in sport or the subscription transmitters work perfectly.
UPDATE 01/13/2015: after SKY conversion of S02 to V14
The iCord works even after almost 6 years still properly and giving good service to the utmost delight of both Users :)
Unfortunately, discontinued the S02 cards last year Sky, which had me great abdominal pain. With the update I just wanted to report briefly as I could toughen the iCord for the V14 card:
The UNICAM EVO4 module with associated programming device to the rescue! I have partly filled with the latest software and adapted the CAID list on this card - it works flawlessly and it has now the private channels in HD (without Vorspulfunktion when shooting) on board. The Sky channels and recordings Timeshift function as usual.
