+++ +++ Display
I would like to highlight the good full-HD panel. I measured it with actual 330-368cd. That's a very good brightness. Viewpoint is (always considering the price situation) to look definitely better than average. The contrast could be a little stronger. Although the display is matt, but the reflections are really compared to other devices minimal. The built here Panel is therefore in my opinion, the highlight of the device
+++ +++ Performance
The Core i5 and the entry-level graphics card Nvidia 820m give a round image of mutltimediafähigen overall package. Surely this notebook is not designed to play games. For office, internet, multimedia, video or even simple image editing, however, is the performance with buffer up perfectly adequate.
+++ +++ Communication
WLAN and Bluetooth have a very good and stable connection. The antennas for this device seem finally to be built into the display, which really neat data rates are achieved.
°°° design, processing, etc °°°
Clearly, a design award no more wins this device. It is plain, simple gray with partially plastic and a little aluminum. Overall, however, sufficiently stable. The weight of the notebook and the size make sure that mobility is severely restricted. But target clientele of the unit are certainly no ultra-mobile business customers.
°°° °°° battery life
The battery life is moderate with 4-5h in office use and is okay. However, this device is in any case not really designed for mobility, so that the 4-5h for Heimandwender should be more than adequate.
--- --- Upgradeability
I can not really criticize on this unit only the missing or lack upgradeability. A service door is missing. In order to open the device all (and there are many) screws the bottom are removed. Then you can remove the entire tray with gap openers and some skill. Granted, a layman I would not recommend.
- SSD: You have no additional SATA, SATA or M-M.2 slot. An additional SSD can not be installed. Only you can see the existing 2.5-inch HDD (SATA) exchanged for an SSD. (Note: To avoid confusion: In the variant of V5-771G with GTX840m graphics card another motherboard is installed where an additional m-SATA slot is present)
- RAM: It is occupied a bank of RAM with DDR3 RAM; a second bank is empty. An upgrade to 8GB is therefore easily feasible
>>> Help Windows installation:
Whoever acquires the variant without an operating system: Because some talk of problems during installation: Here is simply the way how to install Windows 7/8 can from a boot DVD.
- First, you have to short the BIOS. For this right at the start when the ACER logo appears, press F2.

(Windows 8, 8.1 driver is obtained on the Acer website; Windows 7 is complete with drivers installed You have to but the Win7 driver individually looking at the manufacturers of Components Setting, which is quite expensive but the device is indicated on Windows.. 8 designed.)
Conclusion:
For 450 you get a powerful all-round notebook, which provides for the typical home application more than enough power. Should particularly like to highlight one really bright and relatively stable viewing angle Full HD panel.
Compromises you have to accept only in the subsequent extendibility and the gaming capabilities.
Recommended for: the average Joe home users to listen to next Office, and Internet, like to look a video, music or his paintings organized and edited.
By contrast, not suitable for: Gaming, mobility (for example studies)
