Here are some examples:
- In the first section of everyday gestures: how to be prepared to communicate effectively in seconds or minutes, how to say "no", how to get to the point in 5 questions, etc.
- In the second section on career development: how to manage his boss who always demand more results, faster and better presented, how to be the advisor whose dream boss, etc.
- In the third part on the qualities of a leader: how to improve the tools for not wasting time on the team, how to improve the performance of the team, etc.
Before you dive into this book, I was skeptical: it looked very much like a set of recipes made in USA. In other words, a lot of blah-blah but moot. It is by reading the chronicle of Olivier Florant on its site "books to change your life" that I decided to try reading: Chronic was positive, and I think it was deserved!
The advice given by B. Jensen are realistic: they will serve you safe shot. They are pragmatic, and this is their strength: they are based on surveys conducted by gigantic author with thousands of employees at all levels, who have delivered their tips for success in the business faster. Bill Jensen has done an exceptional job of synthesis and clarification. This book will make most any employee who will read it.
Reading is nice, although like the powerpoint presentation given by B. Jensen advice: airy, illustrated with a quick survey to get an idea of the subject, before eventually plunging into the heart of the text for details . Jensen advises even the introduction of the summary view and choose only the few chapters that tell us most; after which read; and for the rest to read the summary of the book presented at the end. Awesome!
Do not hesitate to get it: this book may well make you the best employee of your company!
