INTRODUCTION
I am for years an avid home theater enthusiasts. About the first projector with a maximum VGA resolution, up to the first Full HD superclass projectors as a professionally calibrated Sanyo Z2000 I have some may call my own on-screen equipment. 3 years ago I only times downgraded "on LCD TV ... The advantages of suitability for everyday use and residential Intergration have my old Beamer passion shelved until I can provide a separate room as a standalone home theater.
Now I was looking for a decent LCD TV with 47-inch, so far my current 40 inch Samsung has done best services to me.
I must say that I have been following all the trends and innovations in the fields of Audio / Video accurate, and moves it essentially always the same pattern:
Innovation> Implementation> launch> overpricing> Fehlerbehaftugn of 1 .Generation> expansion of innovation through terrible marketing campaigns> niche product is mass-product> 2nd generation is better> buyers fret about having bought the 1st generation> some manufacturers suggest new innovative directions a> markets split> transparency is lost> the customer is annoyed that he consumed the allegedly false "Innovation> the manufacturers come up with the idea to create a standard> from the. 4th Generation has stable , standardized and accessible / TRANSPART duck products that deliver what they promise ... etc.
So it is so similar to most, if innovations are created and should reach the consumers. Be in smart phones, tablet PCs, HD DVDs to Blu-Ray, Laser Disc to DVD, and many more it ...
And currently, you may have guessed, it is the 3D technology.
I say it short and sweet: 3D is slightly overvalued in my eyes. It's a feature that's fun. Entertaining. I fear even that even the largest 3D purists not permanently wear glasses in front of the telly. 3D is still in its infancy, and already crying the first buyers of active shutter devices, since there have grasped some manufacturers to implement the passive 3D technology. I know only one argument that for the shutter glasses speaks: Maintaining the full resolution in 3D. I really have tested many inexpensive and premium-class Shutter 3D TVs. I personally did not like one of the models right away. Too dark, too demanding, too uncomfortable, too expensive (Pro glasses beyond the 50) (possible just sit for TV, not head Cocked) and restricted.
Then LG came around the corner ... The guys from LG were the first who put on passive technology - like in the movies. Meanwhile also drag Philip and Toshiba after that is to something! So I stood in front of a 3D TV from LG more by accident than intentional. And I was really amazed at how 3D can be for home simple and enjoyable. Passive technology offers many advantages: Cheap Glasses, Flexible viewing (while lying down), loss of brightness is kept within limits, no Flickering "what is stressful and in the eyes goes (headache risk!) The only downside:. Half resolution in 3D, However, this is negligible, depending on seat pitch and image-quality material.
So, it was at the end of the LG 47LW4500. Read to find out why ...
Optics / haptics
Very appealing, piano lacquer, extremely thin (2.9 cm) touch control panel absolutely okay (I do not use, because universal remote control) on the TV, remote control.
Shortcoming: manufacturer's logo is, as with almost allenGeräten, printed / painted on, would be nice here as in some other equipment, a luminous logo, which can be off
CONNECTIONS / PLACEMENT
All important available. Ua 2 x HDMI on the back, 1x HDMI on page (do not worry, you close here to a cable, it is not looking at the low side). Good Impression. LG has built the power cord (2m) here in the device and can not be exchanged. The TV is prepared for an especially flat installation on the wall. M6 screws for wall mount were bolted directly to the unit, the power cord goes down flat off, HDMI can be used via the lateral connection.
But beware: If you need to connect several HDMI cable, so has no A / V receiver or an HDMI switcher, must therefore make use of the rear ports that no longer make a flat wall installation possible. And who in addition an A / V receiver has etc. who does not yet understand the HDMI 1.4 standard, although gets image, but in 3D mode everything is then black. Those who want 3D, so must pay attention to the environment.
There is no built-Fi or LAN, so there is no way for streaming, Smart TV, Apps, etc. Use Apple TV box for such purposes and am therefore already equipped.
About USB (lateral connection) but can play media content. Recording on external hard drives, etc. is not possible. Also does not bother me.
TON
I will not vote because I hear about an A / V system. But it is louder, quieter, and it comes out sound;) Accordingly, it should be absolutely unsatisfactory in "emergency".
PICTURE
1080p picture signal (also in 24p): liquid, through various image enhancers (particularly Duch TruMotion) produces a subjectively extremely smooth, quiet and vivid image, but I am not a big fan of these improvers because somewhere so what falls back down. Local Dimming "reduces the LED typical Clouding, it can not entirely disappear. The Clouding adheres total within limits.
In this price range, the image can be described as very good. Colors can be individually adjusted in detail, but different color / picture modes are standard factory-fit.
Image settings are extremely low when required into detail, here is any - novice or expert - satisfied. An energy-saving mode is integrated, rapidly switched on and off and very useful especially in the dark.
IMAGE GAMING
I am a casual gamer and gaming connoisseurs of PS3. I play mainly PES 2012 with friends, Formula 1 2011 Batman Arkham City. But everything in moderation. It will probably take 1 year, until I have by Batman and Formula 1 world champion will. However, I am a critical player. And it is a fact: This LG has a blatant input lag. The fall in PES or not Batman / hardly, but the formula 1 is a matter of luck. There precision and timing is asked what the input lag prohibits ...
So read on the Internet, and the signal source is HDMI 1, 2 or 3 (depending on where the PS3 is connected) on games "asked ... It has improved ... Entirely of input lag disappears when on PC" provides. So do not worry ...
3D IMAGE
Best 3D image that I experienced. Come ran to the cinema, or exceeds it, depending on the screen material. Uncomplicated and designed for long film nights. 7 Glasses inlusive (2 + Black LG Party Pack with 5 colored glasses). I sit 2.3 to 3.0 m of TV away (depending on Sitzposotion), closer or further, it should not be. I had to take deliberate 55 inches, am grateful to have done it (half resolution with passive 3D technology).
The 2D to 3D conversion works very presentable (and especially in video games) with all sources and can be divided into 2 Set parameters: 3D effect size and shifting background images. It is hard to describe, you just have to test yourself a little. All below 720p looks but in the conversion of just adequate.
Watch Out !!!
3D purists note the following: When the 3D mode is active (whether 2D to 3D or real "3D), only 3 picture modes can be selected:. The self-optimized settings, Standard, Cinema, or play as the Expert1 and Expert2 be saved, will not be available! Jumps you also back from 3D to 2D, the TV stays on the screen mode selected last in 3D (ie Standard, Cinema or Game). Thus, you have to arrange so that one one of these 3D picture modes set in 2D, with deeper cuts as contrast each color are no longer possible. And that's only in 2D, then 3D mode you can not adjust the image etc. modes parameters such as brightness.
That's one thing that I can by LG not understand. One can only hope a firmware update will change in the future! (PS: I have had from the factory even already the latest firmware .27 on it)
As a ray of hope must be said that the mode cinema factory brings an already very good attitude to the color and gamma values, adjusted quickly even brightness, contrast, color saturation (overall), and off you go ...
For games, this mode is not recommended (picture is cinema-typical too hot "and dark), there are accessed just on the game mode back (but the colors partially genuine Shoot)
For further information see INTRODUCTION.
CONCLUSION
TOP unit for a great price (because no-frills is off). On top of that there is the currently better 3D technology that is really extremely impressive in native 3D material. Gamers need something rumfeilen to the settings in order to ultimately be satisfied. Movie buffs will enjoy a very well-drawn through and through image. Cutting back there for no comprehensible picture modes logic when look in 3D. If one is 3D pursit and hangs up expert settings value, a circumstance that is more worthy to be, than those (like me) who are looking mainly 2D and 3D look as nice, impressive bonus.
