It should of course be aware before buying the fact that such a coffee machine requires a lot of space. It is also essential to make sure, yet also up a little "air" because the water tank for filling must be taken up, and the coffee bean container (logically) is filled from the top.
Visually the Philips Saeco HD8930 / 01 Royal coffee machine makes so ever looks very impressive.
Theoretically, you could by following the enclosed "Quick Start Guides" get started right away, because the operation very simple and the menu is almost self-explanatory. However, one should take the time to read through the manual completely. Especially as regards the determination of the degree of hardness of the water, because the maintenance of the equipment should not be neglected in such an investment. It is worth mentioning here that the equipment required for this purpose is included (from descaler up to the water filter) completely supplied. Kudos to Philips!
There are 8 buttons on the front - 5 of which have dual functions - for easy operation.
Macchiato espresso, regular coffee, cappuccino and latte therefore, there are literally at your fingertips. For special requests, there are 2 - 3 buttons more. But even that is in my opinion absolutely fine!
Making coffee powder is also possible. Also hot water is obtained by pressing a button.
Large cups or latte macchiato glasses can be used with flexible output also.
Now for cleaning up: This can be simply summarized with the word "problems".
Before each use, and (manual or automatic standby mode) before any shutdown automatic purge is performed. If a drink prepared with milk, the milk unit should be cleaned werden- but also for this there is a cleaning program. However, this so-called "Cappuccinatore" are additionally used in the dishwasher, which from my experience, however, should not be necessary.
In summary it can be said that it is not (necessarily) is necessary to disassemble everything into its component parts and tedious to clean manually.
Such easy handling and cleaning and maintenance are for me definitely a selling point.
But now the most crucial point: the coffee!
In one sentence said: You get at your fingertips quickly a hot, delicious and aromatic coffee with a beautiful crema! what more do you want?
There is a wide variety of individual settings regarding the grind, the coffee and water quantity used and the brewing temperature. Especially taste no comparison to pad, disc or capsule machines!
Since I'm currently working in the Home Office, is the Philips Saeco HD8930 / 01 Royal coffee machine for the past four weeks in continuous use. Whether coffee, espresso, cappuccino or latte macchiato, the result is always inspiring and consistently high in quality and taste! The machine performs uncomplaining and reliable his service.
