A beautifully-eerie artbook for horror games series

Dead Space, the horror sci-fi franchise made by Visceral Games, is one of my favorite games of the current generation brands. No other game offers such a compelling sci-fi atmosphere and is also blessed with such a grandiose Artdesign. I enjoy the series currently but rather with caution because of the direction that strikes the currently third installment of the series, one can argue. What began as a claustrophobic survival horror game out on the empty universe, is now turned into an action blockbuster of all first-rate. Brains out and shoot is the motto. The cash machine is running and the producer of the series (EA Games) is likely to rub their hands. It is not surprising, because now is so much merchandising to Dead Space on the market that can be easy to lose track. Movies, Comics, action figures and more. An art book can not be missing of course. Worthwhile investment or unloving accessory? Here you can learn it.

The hardcover artbook Publisher Titan Books (which already for Awakening: The Art of Halo showed responsibility 4) is professionally bound, comprises 192 pages and partly provides stunning images for horror games brand. The book beschäfitgt itself not only with all games in the series, but also - to an admittedly small part - with the comics which are based on those same Games. As already talking about the artbook for Halo 4, the designer log off and on in short commentaries on word and hinted what was going on at the genesis of the many graphics in their minds. So much of the design is based on recurring elements. The suit of the protagonist Isaac Clarke is eg. The majority of rib-like elements. The same applies to the ship - to and other stations from the first part - the Ishimura. In addition to much learns about one of the main components of the game: The Light. Only through the lighting of the individual scenes, the atmosphere was achieved exactly that makes Dead Space so unique.

The Art of Dead Space but awaits not only with sophisticated surroundings graphics, but also offers plenty of character, weapons, suit and vehicle design. The designers explain, among other things, as the hideous scary antagonist - the Necromorphs - have emerged and rooms here on directly with a big Internet rumor that has spread in the publication of the first part. At that time it was reported that the nasty opponents Design has been realized by having studied accident victims and other bodies. The course is not true. What it really was, we learn in the book.

The artbook provides high-quality prints, the like extending at one or other point on two sides, very thick sides, a jacket, and a painted cover including an embossing pressure of the Games logos. The interesting explanations also bring a lot of light in the otherwise dark franchise. For this beautiful and at the same time extremely scary artbook I can express a clear recommendation. Any fan of the series, as well as friends of cultivated sci-fi horror genre should urgently take a look. It is worth it!
