Of course, one can argue that this is one more book devoted to Nazi Germany, another book where the hero is an ordinary and yet extraordinary teen, and so on. But reading, we forget all the clichés to simply share the story of the little thief of books and people around him. This is to read slowly to appreciate the style and nuances of the story - and being trapped by emotion despite itself. Note that the narrator is none other than Death, which makes the tone of the whole even more disillusioned, resigned - but also amazed at times.
