A nice little book have in any self-respecting historical library and is fairly clear on what happened. What is striking is the coldness with which he recounts the events. The tribe crosses the plain, it crosses four white 'two in a buggy, two horse' bah they kill. And the scene, told without any emotion, of course repeated dozens of times. Same thing when he described his wounds, bullets that have affected or not, not bad Geronimo ... Just two regrets (but hey, this is the style that does it) very descriptive and linear, and systematic use of the past simple ('we killed them', 'we reached the heights' etc ...), the translator could ease all that ...
