The choice was due to the combination of size and weight to the Xperia Tablet. A fully comprehensive review, I can not offer, but after almost a week following impressions solidify:
Power:
The Xperia offers plenty of power for all the programs that I have tried so far. No jerking, no pause, "everything runs smoothly." So far also no malfunctions or crashes have occurred - everything is very reliable. You may have problems that others have reported here sporadically, eradicated with the last update yes.
Display:
The display is bright, smooth and color fidelity. A yellow tinge, like other reviewers, I did not. The resolution is good enough for my purposes all. The viewing angle stability is also good.
Housing:
The case makes an ambiguous impression. On the one hand it looks classy and feels beautiful good, on the other hand there are minor concessions concerning the gaps that fail a little too big. Here MT is probably the time to accumulate dirt. Depending on hold the Plastikwulst at the back creaks slightly in the area of SD card slots. And disturbing some might feel that the relatively "sharp" edges even after prolonged holding. But I think really comfortable it is hardly a 9- or 10-inch tablet on permanent hold in your hand. The Sony can immehin come up with a comparatively low weight. According to the manufacturer it is supposed to be even splashproof what wüprde predestine it as a cookbook 2.0. The connector for the charger cable is out a little shaky.
Software:
Well, I think that Sony has incorporated a host mode that allows something like a rudimentary UAC. About a symbol more desktops can be called, which can be designed by other users. For these users, you can select which apps you can use. Not possible, it is to set up multiple Google Accounts and assign desktops. The app settings are unfortunately the same for all accounts. If, however, for each user its own browser and a separate e-mail program installed (eg User 1: Firefox and GMX Mail, users 2: Dolphin and web mail), then to get real user accounts at least a little closer. Switching between accounts is quick. Otherwise all sorts of Sony-frills is installed, the well not everyone absolutely needs. Integrating Playstation functions leaves much to be desired.
Other:
The highly touted Infra grate interface with Fernbedieungsapp is with me for naught. Although all units are detected, but as yet any universal remote that has ever been invented, absent in the Xperia app functions derenthalben you the Originalfernbedieungen then again has to have at hand. Too bad, but not decisive.
My Conclusion:
A powerful, reliable and stylish tablet on the amount of time. A star deduction for "negligence" on the housing construction.
