Imagine a planet on which our valiant Terran colonists landed because at the end of their ship resources. Now imagine the unimaginable, never seen, imagine inanimate do not be!
Erna on the will, but also the fears or desires, acknowledged or not, influence the physical world.
For example, imagine you cross a frozen lake, but you are afraid to pass through, well ice may well access your fear. Awesome right?
But what do you think the type of creatures created by the universal fear of the darkest night, scary right?
Twelve centuries after the arrival of humans, society remained technologically stagnant, all forms of energy are concentrated in dangerous effect when simply fear the explosion of a cartridge or a motor to explode !
While some men have gained control over the "fae" (telluric currents, light, dark or tide ultimately responsible for the animation of the World). Many witches exist, and few followers even have a very complete control on these currents.
But the fae is too unpredictable in large doses it literally scorched the fool who dares to use it. In short it is not nearly as reliable as your car or your mobile!
Only the dream of the Unification Church to impose its yoke Human Erna once gave hope to all humanity. Alas knights crashed against Forest Hunter, predator buried at the center of an impenetrable forest, feeding, according to the legends, the most beautiful young women who dare brave the darkness ... for the last time .
So much for the background, quickly brushed. Unfortunately the characters and plot are less convincing. We will follow Damien Vryce indeed, a novelty in the Church: the warrior-sorcerer-priest three-class, the class!
Indeed the Church has long disavowed the use of the fae, perhaps for fear of losing his congregation that it could. It must be said that the Church has no advantage over the thousands of other cults that abound on Erna: his God never comes as any other cult came to embody his own God / Devil. The Church claims to provide salvation for all, while all these cults meet the immediate needs of everyone.
The fight is uneven, at least from the time the initial successes of the Church collided at Hunter ... tan tan tan tan!
But I disgresse, Damien therefore went into the city of Jaggonath to recruit new wizards for his new fighting order. He meets the wonderful Adept Ciani he quickly falls in love, the boy is rather kind of bulldozer. However shortly after Ciani is attacked by unknown who simply stole his Talent.
In this strange world, emotions and memories are the same food for some incarnated entities. Unless it's the first time that Talent is well absorbed and it seems that Rakh are responsible for this act.
Again I must make a digression: the Rakh are a bipedal race native to this planet that humanity, in his unconscious need of an enemy who looks like him, made huge intelligent ... right?
Man of course then tried to wipe out the competing species. This attempted genocide led Rakh to take refuge in the most inhospitable part of the continent where they devote a fierce hatred to humans.
Damien Senzei, the intimate friend of Ciani Ciani and therefore itself decide to go in Rakh lands and slay the aggressor of the latter so that it gets what it cherishes more than anything in the world: Talent makes it perceives constantly the fae that permeates the world like a mystical and permanent artistic experience.
Except that no one ever returns from Rakh Lands, it is difficult to understand even such an expedition limited to three persons can be considered. Using a new Adept, met on the road, will prove essential to completely final, except that only the extreme arrogance of it is invoked to explain his presence in a mortally dangerous adventure that does not support him ... not the day, the famous Gerald Tarrant, a historical figure of Erna.
Again, difficult to understand and therefore a flaw in the construction of a paradoxical closed session (the characters are outside!).
Yet there is, in my short experience, extremely rare to fall under the spell of an evil character indisputably (how is it possible to say the reader with his omniscient point of view), yet this is what happens here .
It must be said that when this character enjoys powers essential to the survival of the group, when the offers to this group when its undeniable convinces you to honor its promises and when it can be used to shoot down a threat more dangerous ... there's enough to lose his moral compass.
And it is the poor treatment suffered by our people, including and especially the priest, despite his frequent death threats.
And you, you resist his charm, huh?
