GLIDE: This mat provides comparable or better than the slides SX indeed the mat is very slightly less smooth than the SX, but it allows more precise control. Skiing is really excellent. I use the Logitech G502 teflon pad a treat.
SIZE: I took it in size L (bigger than an A4 sheet) which corresponds to the size of SX for the player in low sensi this will may be not enough.
BASE: the rubber base that the carpet does not slip even on a glass desk like mine. Also the carpet is very late on March 2 mmm that allows not breaking the wrist.
Like all aluminum mat this type of carpet is noisier than a mat with a fabric coating for example.
However the sound matches that of any rigid mat (plastic or glass).
