"The Knights of the Round Table" is a cooperative game, namely that plays together (from 3 to 7 players) against the game itself in a very traditional system of drawing cards, good and bad, that dictate finally the evolution of the game. The first impression, when you unpack the box is that one gets a treat for the eyes as for the quality of equipment: no less than 4 plates, including 3 duplex, beautifully illustrated, figurines and relics (armor Lancelot Sword Excalibur, Holy Grail) finely carved on their pretty colorful but alas unpainted base, equally successful cards. Reading 2 rulebooks may seem rather tedious but the text is very didactic and illustrations nicely complement the explanations. Finally, the rules are very accessible and reflects the first part of a fluid game, fast and quickly assimilated. Like any good game of cooperation, the challenge is not easy and that's good! 3 players will avoid introducing the felon immediately to toughen the best strategies. But it is obvious that the game is more exciting (and challenging) with the possibility of a traitor among the players, which is the best find of the game. Finally, after 5 parts (3 and 4 players), it shows a game with lots of atmosphere, easy to initiate occasional friends at parties and appeal to both children (my 9 year old son love) and adults, the actions and roles varied enough to allow good replayability but, like many cooperative games based on random necessarily artificial intelligence (black card), lacks a bit of depth and strategic complexity. Still succeed in defeating the forces of evil is a great time and beat the felon is well worth the champagne (or Champomy according to the public)!
