I use a Canon EOS 600D. I bought this lens to use it in making portraits. I immediately saw the difference with a goal to grind EF-S lenses are much larger and clearer and sharpness suffers. The colors are also closer to the natural equivalent settings. Use in macro, which is closer to the Proxy-photography give spectacular results, as we get to master the development. What is not always obvious with an opening at 1.4 and a range of development of the width of a millimeter (APS-C sensor with a ratio 1.6). I am sure he is doing a little better with a 24x36. However, I have two complaints about this goal: 1- A maximum aperture, the sharpness is very average (excluding macro) and rendering of pale colors. From an opening of 2 or 2.2, it gets better significantly. 2- The absence of stabilization limit the versatility of the use of this by APS-C. After eight months of use I'd say it's a very good portrait lens for day and for the macro and that deserves to be mastered. For use in low light, it requires patience and mastery. A goal that wins (APS-C).
