I came looking for a replacement of my Canon PowerShot Pro1 to the G2. Looking for a camera with a better sensor, better lens and a vari-angle display, as it has the Pro1, I first came across the Canon G11. A colleague, who in his spare time working intensively with photography has, to me then but the Lumix G1 strongly recommended. Much less noise, to use for a larger sensor and interchangeable lenses possibility totz compact dimensions. The G11 I could even test short and this was a compact camera initially my favorite, because it has these vari-angle monitor, I do not want to miss, and the lens will disappear completely in the housing when it is switched off and so fits in a belt pouch. In order to keep the G1 time in hands and maybe make a few tests with it, I'm in a specialty shop. The G1 was no longer to have here and so was the successor G2 into their own hands. At first I was surprised by the low weight of this camera. When you first look through the viewfinder bright enthusiasm !! What a resolution in this small viewfinder. 1.3 megapixel in front of the pupil. The viewfinder of my Pro1 is downright against a joke. Then, the vari-angle screen looked. Resolution as the Canon G11. So fine. Then I led the seller but still the possibility of a lot of functions to operate via touchscreen. Wow, not bad. Not necessary, I think, but if you's to get, why not. After me, the seller then assured that the new 14-42 is just as good as the older 14-45, am proud march with the G2 in the bag from the store.
Now that I could do some test photos on the weekend, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I spare myself the shop talk about subsequent equalizing the photos on the built-in software of camera or discussions about noise performance. It's me yes ultimately no matter how the camera manages to get such good photos on the SD card. The result has at least convinced me! While it is now yet no camera for the belt bag, but that was not the Pro also. The camera complies with (almost) all my wishes. She remained priced in the broader framework, has the beloved vari-angle monitor, it is even lighter than my old Pro1 interchangeable lens and despite just makes great photos.
However, I have been annoyed in retrospect something that a set offer I have not the same, taken together with the 45-200, as there is here on Amazon, because if even a camera with interchangeable lenses, then makes the set offer really sense and it also saves a few Euros, which can be well put in a couple of filters.
