--- THE "SP" stands for Super Performance ---
According to the Tamron "SP" lenses offer a higher-quality optical and mechanical
Quality. The first impression when unpacking is promising, the lens is by the size
and the weight of about 770 g compared to the Sony a real chunks.
The processing is very high quality, nothing wobbles, the supplied lens hood
is stable and fits perfectly. The pleasantly wide zoom ring runs continuously very supple
with equal resistance, the (still) is strong enough that the tube in a hanging position
(Still) does not unload by itself.
--- THE FOCUS IS SITTING ---
Initially unusual is the location of the focus ring which is not up front, but between
Zoom Ring and bayonet is. This makes operation during manual focus to much
easier, especially as the AF system can always be adjusted manually.
The focus ring itself is smooth and very easy to dose.
Tamron's USD-drive working quiet, fast and most accurate. Whoever receives and Videos
will thus have his joy. In contrast, "tears" of noisy AF from Sony
literally on the lens - although quite fast, but unfortunately also loud.
The AF is well adjusted and is located a few exceptions pretty good.
--- All beginnings are difficult ---
The familiarization of a maximum of 200 to 300 mm was more difficult for me than I thought,
initially quite a bit blurry photos were there, which I first blame
wrongly searched the lens and not with me, but also an image stabilizer
can not work miracles! ;)
Now, after nine months and a little practice to succeed much more
, So do not give photos than at the beginning, also by private treaty without monopod equal if
at the beginning is a lot of waste there.
--- Optical performance CONFIDENT DESPITE SMALL WEAKNESSES ---
Important for me is the imaging performance at the long end beyond the 200 mm.
Fully extended and at full aperture shows the Tamron depending on the situation as to
expect slight weaknesses. Some (not all) seem somewhat dull pictures and / or slightly out of focus.
Stopped down to f / 8 convinced the lens but wholeheartedly. Crisp sharp up to
the edge, even at 300 mm, it must be that.
Very pleasantly surprised I was by the correction of chromatic aberration.
When Sony clearly and partly annoying, I could now when Tamron not to
shred of Farbsaumes recognize - For two thumbs up.
--- --- CONCLUSION
"Super Performance" promises Tamron SP 70-300 USD at its telephoto lens.
And in fact, the performance is not to be despised. Those who no G Lens by Sony
can afford or wants, which is right here.
The small weaknesses at maximum aperture are bearable and completely by stopping
compensated, the price / performance ratio convinces everybody.
