The pros:
- Rather reactive screen (although n''est not perfect), it is small, but it passes.
- Sufficient Definition screen to moderate use applications and web
- Small footprint
- Lightweight (102 g)
- Quality of the phone part (good sound, ergonomics address book ...)
- Very correct network Reception
- Supports micro SD cards up to 32GB (I recommend the purchase of at least 16GB, are found in cheap)
- The phone is quite sturdy and well finished
- Access to full application (free or paid) on the GooglePlay (formerly Android Market)
- Phone 3.5G (3G +)
- Ability to synchronize Gio with your Address Book and iCal on Mac with SyncMate ([...])
- Recharges with a USB cable (allow a load via a computer)
- Correct and usable GPS (even if it is rather basic)
- Basic Applications delivered by fairly comprehensive default (GPS, YouTube, web browser, email, maps ...)
- WiFi connection and Bluetooth performance
The -:
- Battery very low (2 days max big so moderate use of 3G and applications ...)
- Some delays in use (probably due to the microprocessor "only" 800 mhz mono and heart)
- Low internal phone memory (180MB, and some applications can not be transferred to the micro SD)
- Android version can old a ... but not "dead";) (max 2.3.3 has the time or writing this review (03/07/2012))
- Very small virtual keyboard (big fingers refrain)
- Device perfectible picture (3.2M Pixel, no flash and bad in low light, just okay in sunlight)
- Movies too low quality (to use in exceptional and without expecting anything at all exploitable outside of the phone)
In conclusion it is an entry level smartphone with a good quality / price ratio.
For those who want a smartphone to make calls and also can surf Facebook, play moderately and have some practical applications ... This is for you.
This is not a Smartphone for tech crazy, but it's nice to "hack" ... To exploit thoroughly it pays to be a can "geek" at the edges. ;)
Autonomy is a fear as we can from the world of old phones easy manning a week without seeing a charger ...
But this phone provides a good first experience of smartphone and Android.
Edit: With the hack not too complicated (rootage phone app dedicated and installation), you can compensate for the lack of internal memory by transferring all (app and app-related files) on the SD card ... your phone going be full app without saturating, but happiness! :)
