Pretty good 1st impression receiving the package: pc box is made of recycled cardboard.
Then the PC itself is really well done. The brushed aluminum finish is very professional, very pleasant to the touch and does not score at all, unlike the outer cover which finds herself with lots of fingerprints. The set is very well fixed, no crunches if one twists a little structure, the screen keyboard is held by two metal legs. The whole gives an impression of real strength.
The first ignition, the finalization of Windows goes smoothly, except to the net via wifi connection that does not happen. This will then be solved once all the updates occur. Still, I find that the card has a wifi network rather low grip (smaller than my tablet, for example) and sometimes very easily disconnects.
In use, I am overall very pleased with this pc. The screen is pretty decent, with nice bright colors, although there remains a weakness in red and blue, even after calibration. However, I noticed 2 dead pixels, rather unfortunately placed at the center of the screen. Too bad, I guess we'll have to do with ...
I had a little trouble at first with the keyboard (being accustomed to a "traditional" keyboard with soft keys, it felt weird to have keys that were "cluck cluck"), but I myself 'm done and I find it very responsive to end.
The PC itself starts quickly, has a pretty good autonomy for this screen size (between 5 and 8 hours on average) and recharges quickly. For cons, I find it rather big charger, with an unusual square shape.
The performances are with go for my use (after I have not tested on a latest generation 3D game either!). The sound is very good, allowing to work in music, for example, in a pleasant way. The fans are rather silent and palmrest are really fresh.
The only problem I encounter is that the keypad will not activate at startup, it is necessary each time press the "num lk". In searching the net, I saw the need to disable the Quick Start. This effectively solves the problem, but I would not recommend this solution because then the PC can sometimes take up to 5 minutes to start !!! Never mind, I will continue to press my button each time you start ...
Small bracket for people who struggle with Windows 8 (part I): There is a setting that allows you to start in desktop mode. Then I came across this tip which is mentioned nowhere for options and key features of Windows, just click the right mouse button on the Windows logo at the bottom left of the screen. For once, you can use Windows 8 almost like a Windows 7.
